Bleeding Heart has gone back to its roots and re-opened it’s famous Basement Wine Bar which popped its first cork in 1983 when the house claret was 95 p a glass, and Champagne was 3.95 - and there was a Concret Grand Piano in the corner. The Wine Bar is now on the ground floor of the Bleeding Heart Tavern on the corner of the Yard and Greville Street , and offers a much more extensive wine and food offering . There are 25 wines by the glass, 400 by the bottle and a re- charged Rotisserie with a regularly changing repertoire of British Birds and Beasts, plus an a la carte menu from Phil Cooper who arrives after years as Marco’s right hand man behind the stoves. The Wine Bar is currently open Monday to Friday 11.30 am to 11 pm but in the Spring we’ll be offering a Champagne Brunch on Saturdays for those wanting to celebrate after successfully perusing the Hatton Garden jewellery stores.
In the Bleeding Heart Tavern Wine Bar and Restaurant, we offer two private dining rooms, which can be hired for private lunch or dinner Monday to Saturday.
