We’re more than oysters - we’re Colorado's best seafood restaurant! Opened 2017, this is Blue Island Oyster Bar & Seafood's flagship location. Our approach is to create honest food and drinks and serve them in a comfortable, casual environment. The restaurant’s culture is inspired by memories of growing up in coastal towns with families of oyster farmers and fishermen. Like them, we strive to bring you superb hospitality and delicious food with a commitment to the freshest seafood at reasonable prices. To ensure this commitment of quality, we’ve partnered with Chris Quartuccio of Blue Island Shellfish Farms in Long Island, NY to bring you nearly daily shipments of seasonal oysters and seafood, offering favorites such as Steamed Mussels, Lobster Rolls, Clam Chowder, Crab Cakes, and fish like halibut, Atlantic cod and salmon, to name a few. We invite you in for dock-to-dish dining at its best!

Disclaimer: My husband and I have been "regulars" at Blue Island since it opened 9 years ago. It's still the best seafood and service in Denver! This time three friends and I met for lunch. We all selected the 3-course "Power Lunch". We all chose the Caesar salad to start, which was quite ample in size, and just the right amount of refreshing dressing. For the main course, three of us chose the Salmon Florentine, which was excellent -- the salmon, spinach, and the sauce were perfect. Our other friend chose the lobster "Knuckle Sandwich" with French fries. The smaller sandwich is a good way to sample the quality of the larger lobster rolls, which are available in New England or Connecticut style. The Blue Island shoestring, French fries are the best, too! For dessert, a huge cookie, warm out of the oven, was served to each of us -- so tasty! We also enjoyed a bottle for the white Bordeaux - excellent! We appreciated Linda's attentive and smiling service! The warm hospitality and great service is a standard at Blue Island. The ambiance at Blue Island is fun, with the freshest seafood and a wide variety of cocktails and wine. (They have a beer selection, too!)

Someone needs to monitor the food coming from the kitchen. The three mussels with french fries entrees were served cold.

One of my favorite casual restaurants in Denver. Happy hour is not as good as it used to be but it’s still worthwhile. Don’t miss oyster Monday.

Our server was terrific. There is a great selection of oysters, but they should be priced two for one-they're very small!! The caesar salad was ok. Very fresh, crunchy romaine, but either the dressing was put on sparingly or has little taste. The anchovys on top helped with the flavor. I ordered pasta with clams. The pasts was cooked perfectly, but the clams are the small ones in their shell. It was a messy, tedious process to take them out of their shell. The sauce was way too wet and had too much butter. Way too rich for my taste. The fried seafood platter is bountiful, and the scallops were delicious! The price, however, was way too high in our opinion. The same platter back East would be under $30. Probably will revisit the restaurant on a Monday night or during happy hour but most likely won't go back for date night.
