This waterfront locale is historically known as the launching site of our country's first submarine, the H.L. Hunley. Poised at the breach between the Intracoastal Waterway and the Atlantic, you can enjoy a meal amongst the spectacular sunset views and balmy ocean breezes of the Isle of Palms. Come early and have a cocktail at the Rooftop Bar while enjoying amazing views before dining.

    Our waterfront deck overlooking the waterway accommodates 80 people for a seated dinner or lunch or up to 150 people for a cocktail party. The rooftop bar can accommodate cocktail parties up to 75 people. Our sun room can accommodate 36 people for a seated dinner Our inlet bar and boardwalk area can accommodate cocktail parties for outdoor events. Evening events are currently very limited. Daytime luncheons are recommended. Please inquire at manager@boathouserestaurants.com

    The food was not good. The shrimp scampi was swimming in butter. The scallop dish was just OK. The food prices were very high for the poor food quality. The server however, was very nice and attentive,

    It was a lovely meal. The server was very attentive. Towards the end of our meal, the room filled up and was loud.

    Poached Seafood Platter was dreadful and I had to send it back. I knew from the moment that plate hit the table that it was not going to be good. You eat with youe eyes first and the presentation was disappointing to say the least. But I decided to give it a try anyway and literally spit the food out onto the plate. Got seared scallops instead and they were barely better, but I didn't want to be difficult and send another plate back so I took it to go and threw it in the first dumpster I could find. The server was nice, I felt really bad about sending food back. I worry about the hygiene of the restaurant because the table smelled like a mildewy towel, so I am guessing they wiped down the table with a dirty rag. Overall a huge disappointment in terms of a birthday dinner, I have no intention in going back. I had been looking forward to lobster for weeks and my husband now feels guilty because he convinced me to cancel our reservation at another restaurant because this place looked decent. My only regret is not sending back the scallops and essentially throwing $30-$40 in the trash. Instead we spent $120 just for the birthday girl to go home hungry. I couldn't even force myself to eat something when I got home because my stomach was in knots from the bad seafood.

    We had an excellent waiter and the food was fresh and delicious. There was a huge screaming bridal party so it was really loud, but that was out of their hands. They would have moved us to a quieter spot if we had wanted. I highly recommend the Boathouse.
