   There are a number of these old-school steak houses in Midtown Manhattan. Booby Van's didn't stand out among its peers. Nothing disappointed me, but nothing was surprisingly good, either. In that general area, I'd go to Sparks or Keen's first. If someone said, "Hey, we're going to Bobby Van's!" I'd be like "okay...."

   One of our favorite steak houses in NYC, Bobby Van's never fails to deliver. We were escorted to a large table for two (very comfortable). The cocktails... awesome (I had a dirty martini and my wife a cosmopolitan). The food is second to none, no matter what you order. We went 'classic' and shared a Harry's Salad), both had the Bone-In Rib Eye with Hash Browns, Creamed Spinach, and String Beans. TDF!!! As it was our anniversary the restaurant also bought us dessert (Bread Pudding) which was very unexpected but very appreciated. If' you've been there before (which we defintiely have, go again soon. If you've never been, go there soon. It's a NYC classic and you will not be disappointed.

    We've been going to BV's "the original" on Park/46 since before we had children (our oldest is 24). When the children are given a birthday dinner of their choice, this is where they want to go. It's not just the best steakhouse in Manhattan, it's one of the best restaurants in Manhattan. Bring your family. Bring your clients. Bring your friends.
