Located in New York's landmark Helmsley Building, Bobby Van's Steakhouse has been serving the best porterhouse in town for the last eleven years. Upon entering, one is greeted with the sight of a credenza groaning under the weight of large bottles of wine. A bar full of regular customers is on the left and looking into the one-hundred seat dining room, one sees the thirty foot high ceiling and windows overlooking Park Avenue. To complement our Prime Aged Steaks our Sommelier has created an award winning wine list. Whether you're looking for a big Cabernet, a Pinot Noir or something in between our comprehensive list is sure to please. "

One of our favorite steak houses in NYC, Bobby Van's never fails to deliver. We were escorted to a large table for two (very comfortable). The cocktails... awesome (I had a dirty martini and my wife a cosmopolitan). The food is second to none, no matter what you order. We went 'classic' and shared a Harry's Salad), both had the Bone-In Rib Eye with Hash Browns, Creamed Spinach, and String Beans. TDF!!! As it was our anniversary the restaurant also bought us dessert (Bread Pudding) which was very unexpected but very appreciated. If' you've been there before (which we defintiely have, go again soon. If you've never been, go there soon. It's a NYC classic and you will not be disappointed.

We've been going to BV's "the original" on Park/46 since before we had children (our oldest is 24). When the children are given a birthday dinner of their choice, this is where they want to go. It's not just the best steakhouse in Manhattan, it's one of the best restaurants in Manhattan. Bring your family. Bring your clients. Bring your friends.

The original and the best! We went the Friday of Xmas week for an end year blow out lunch and it delivered on every level. The food was 10000pct on point despite being a quiet period and the service was beyond their normal terrific level.

The server was not friendly, never introduced himself; just immediately asked for drink orders. He continued to hover over us all dinner. I appreciate good service but he watched over us all dinner too much. He seemed to rush us to leave, not a relaxing meal. The steaks were good but the chopped salad was different from what we expected. It was basically, tomatoes, onions, and cheese; there was no greens. Overall, it was ok.

The biggest disappointment was the steak just had no seasoning and no flavor. The wedge was great, the wine was great, the onion rings were great. They obviously forgot to season the meat with even salt /pepper.
