The experience started positive. We had a positive experience at the check-in counter. Our waitress was friendly and attentive. And then it went downhill.
We ordered the focaccia bread. It didn't come out until our food came out. I ordered the Rigatoni. My wife ordered the eggplant parm. My daughter ordered completely plain spaghetti. My food came out 10 minutes before any other food. I actually don't mind when hot food comes out at slightly different times, but this was too much of a gap. And my daughter ordered plain spaghetti, so where was that? Their food came out about 10 minutes later and my daughter's spaghetti had pepper on it. Not really sure why you put pepper on an order for completely plain pasta. So now she is waiting additional time for her food.
The focaccia was too earthy for me and not as soft as I was anticipating. It came with a drizzle of oil and a small container of additional oil to dip. However, that's not what the bread needed. It needed balsamic. I asked for some balsamic. I was expecting something a little thick with some good aged flavor. We got watery balsamic that didn't do the trick either.
The Rigatoni was not great. Very oily. Just not an appealing plate. I asked for a side of red sauce. Adding that made a bid difference.
My daughters pasta was fine. Didn't come across as hand made in the restaurant.
My wife's eggplant was stacked and deep fried. If you're going to deep fry something you need to advertise it that way. Thats not how you make eggplant parm. She basically couldn't eat it.
So, after a disappointing meal we get the bill. While it's not a huge deal, I ordered an iced tea. It was easily 50% ice. I was asked if I would like another iced tea which I accepted. Well, when the bill came, I was charged $5 for each iced tea. Who charges for 6 oz of iced tea refill? I often drink 3-4 iced teas. Would have been quite a shock with a $20 iced tea bill.
Overall disappointing.
