We always visit this restaurant at least once when we are in Las Vegas, because we have never had anything other than an excellent experience. This time was a dinner party of seven for a birthday celebration. We ordered 3 apps to share (the fois gras special, the mussel dinner as an appetizer (absolutely an excellent suggestion from the server!), and beef tartare) All were perfect, and dunking the warm bread into the broth of the mussels was delightful. Dinner included steak frites, pepper steak, lamb, trout, 2 orders of roast chicken, salmon. Desserts were shared among us all. Wine was a bottle of Bordeaux.
Pros: Excellent creative food, beautiful presentation, Attentive and friendly service- every need was anticipated before we knew we needed it. Courses arrived at the table in a timely manner, and the server was very helpful, answering questions and make suggestions. The food temperatures were spot on.
Cons: The restaurant specialty roast chicken, which is normally absolutely perfect, had very dry white meat, specifically in the thickest side of the breast meat. When it was served, the skin was darker than usual, so that would account for the dryness. Since two of our party of seven had ordered it based on my previously glowing recommendations, I personally felt bad for misleading them. I always had ordered the chicken during brunch, so perhaps the late hour accounts for the variance.
Note: Most of the diners did not adhere to the suggested dress code; there were sweat pants with tee shirts, hoodies, no-collar shirts, etc. Personally, I felt it was disrespectful to an excellent staff to wear the same thing as you might to a fast food restaurant, but to each their own. It also means that if you didn't bring business casual + clothes, don't let that stop you from enjoying an excellent dining experience.
