“Arguably the best oyster bar of any white tablecloth restaurant in New Orleans” per the Times-Picayune, Dickie Brennan’s Bourbon House is all about local seafood. If it’s not in season, you won’t find it on the menu. Enjoy authentic New Orleans dishes and oysters on the half-shell in a lively atmosphere overlooking Bourbon Street.

Dickie Brennan and his culinary team have created an incredible menu of classic New Orleans dishes complemented by new favorites. Signature favorites include Gulf fish on the Halfshell and New Orleans style Barbeque Shrimp.

Bourbon is a central focus at the bar with 200 bourbons on the list. Bourbon House is the perfect place for a specialty cocktail or a straight pour of that hard to find small-batch whiskey.

    The oysters were cold, fresh and delicious. The service was very attentive to our need to catch a show on time & our table by the window was a great view for people watching!

    Portions are smaller while the price is normal, compared to similar restaurants. Service is not up to what I would expect from a restaurant in that class. Food come out with almost 5 minutes difference between first and last plate on the table. Had to ask several times for water to be brought to table when they were prepared standing ready - had to get up and grab it myself. On another note, this restaurant and associated restaurant that belong to same group do not offer Military Discount! Red Fish Grill across gives 20% if you like to support military friendly businesses. Unfortunately they were not open when we had are luncheon.

    I had the shrimp and grits. I loved the thick, creamy texture of the grits. The shrimp was good as well. I didn't like the barbcue sauce; it was too tangy. I also thought 5 shrimp was a little skimpy; most people give you at least 6 shrimp. My companion had some boudin balls and catfish and loved both dishes. I thought the waiter could have been more attentive, especially since there were very few customers in the establishment.

    Everyone loved their dishes - the local fish, the alligator pasta (not too spicy) and shrimp and grits . Service was attentive and pleasant. The bread pudding was good (flavorful) but not what we are used to - it was a bit dense.

    I had the pleasure of dining at Bourbon House recently, and it was truly an unforgettable experience. From the moment I walked in, the ambiance set the tone for a delightful evening. The highlight, however, was undoubtedly the food prepared by Chef Jerrod, which was nothing short of spectacular. We started with an appetizer that was a perfect balance of flavors and textures, showcasing Chef Jarett’s incredible ability to elevate even the simplest ingredients. For the main course, I opted for the steak, cooked to perfection — tender, juicy, and beautifully seasoned. The side dishes were equally impressive, each one thoughtfully prepared and complementing the main dish wonderfully. Gavin, our server, was attentive and knowledgeable, offering great recommendations on both food and drink pairings. He had a great sense of timing and made sure we felt well taken care of without being intrusive. His service added an extra layer of warmth to the already welcoming atmosphere. Overall, Bourbon House offers an exceptional dining experience — the food, drinks, service, and desserts are all top-notch. I highly recommend it for anyone looking for an outstanding meal with a warm, inviting atmosphere.

    Our waiter, Hank, made our dinner a fantastic experience! He had excellent suggestions for drinks and food and was very attentive. Oysters were some of the best we’ve ever had.
