“Arguably the best oyster bar of any white tablecloth restaurant in New Orleans” per the Times-Picayune, Dickie Brennan’s Bourbon House is all about local seafood. If it’s not in season, you won’t find it on the menu. Enjoy authentic New Orleans dishes and oysters on the half-shell in a lively atmosphere overlooking Bourbon Street.

Dickie Brennan and his culinary team have created an incredible menu of classic New Orleans dishes complemented by new favorites. Signature favorites include Gulf fish on the Halfshell and New Orleans style Barbeque Shrimp.

Bourbon is a central focus at the bar with 200 bourbons on the list. Bourbon House is the perfect place for a specialty cocktail or a straight pour of that hard to find small-batch whiskey.

    We ordered oysters and they came out cold. Sent them back and the waitress said they were making us a fresh order. They came back out still lukewarm like they had been sitting there a while.

    If you just want to sip bourbon it’s a great place to go. One of the best selections I’ve ever found. However, we tried dinner. After a 40 minute wait my dinner companion did not get what he ordered and I got cold, very greasy fries with 7 fried shrimp just scattered all over the plate. Also, there was a large tablespoon of Cole slaw that had a good flavor but was warmer than the fries.

    Very poor service, we waited for over an hour for the main course. They brought to a party of four the first two dishes and an hour later the other two. The soup that was brought first got cold, since they brought a spoon along with the second pair of dishes and it also had crab shells in it. We also expected some help with the impressively long list of bourbons, but there was not a single person with somewhat of a knowledge to guide us.
