The Plough isn't your average countryside pub. Sitting on a quiet lane in a quintessentially English village, The Plough was set to be sold off the developers when 120 members of the community came together to invest, and save, their local. After its purchase and renovation, the Yates family took over the kitchen and opened the pub's small, but proud, restaurant, Bowleys.

Head Chef Alex Yates is still very early on in his career but though only in his early twenties, he has already spent two years in the kitchens at The Goring Hotel in London, as well as having gained experience with Rick Stein and even once cooking for the Queen.

Bowleys menus have a traditional feel and adhere to classic, English fare with a fine dining twist. There are several options to choose between including a tasting menu, set lunch, a la carte, brunch and Sunday lunch. The tasting menu is the jewel in Bowleys crown and consists of five courses, with an optional sixth.

Lovely country pub with fine dining. Staff are excellent and make you very welcome. Stand out dish of the day was the risotto and the wine was excellent. We will e back

Lovely restaurant. Nice location with onsite parking. Delicious food. Lots of extras - crudités from their very own nursery was a real treat, home made bread with smoked butter was amazing & amuse bouche too! No steak however there is a chateaubriand option if you dine in the bar. The reduction sauce served with the venison was to die for. All in all a very lovely experience! Definitely coming here again. Oh and Will our server was the perfect host! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

A sophisticated, well presented dining space, which is popular for celebrations; we were celebrating my husbands birthday. We opted for the 8 course tasting menu. Stand out dishes were the cep risotto and venison haunch, both absolutely delicious; I love the fact that all the produce is locally sourced. We had a Cotes de Gascogne to accompany our meal which was light and refreshing. The service was also a highlight, with each dish explained and presented beautifully. The team were very knowledgeable about the dishes, origins of ingredients and what wine would pair well for the tasting menu and/or individual dishes. The cocktails are highly recommended, especially the margaritas!
