Named by Robb Report as one of the Top 10 Best New Restaurants in the country, Brasero combines South American passion with midwestern grit and brings Chef John Manion's talent for wood-fired Latin cooking to West Town’s bustling restaurant row. This sultry 120-seater draws inspiration from across Latin America, honed through Manion’s decades of experience. Think flame- roasted, whole young chickens slicked with garlic-chili oil, steaks cooked over an open fire alongside chimichurri, and moqueca teeming with clams, shrimp & Mahi Mahi with coconut-scented rice—all washed down with quenching caipirinhas, locally brewed, Latin-inspired beer and 100 bottles of wine under 100 dollars.

                                      Amazing dinner at Brasero! Our party shared a few dishes on the menu and they were all pretty spectacular. The Pao De Queijo was maybe the only one I’d skip- we didn’t love the super chewy/ mochi like texture from the tapioca flour, but it was interesting to try. The scallop aguachile was to die for, pork rice was delicious, but the showstoppers were the whole Branzino and the Coconut broth ramen. OH MY GOD, they were just such amazing and unique flavor combos on both. I personally love seafood, but my friends took some convincing to shy away from the red meat options here. But after one taste of the fish, I got an immediate “this is the best fish I’ve ever had in my life”, and honestly I wish we had saved some bread to soak up the coconut broth from the soup. Really great experience, staff was amazingly friendly and accommodating (helped us course out with a dairy allergy as well), and desserts were delicious too. Would absolutely make a return trip!

                                      Autumn did a wonderful job! Very engaged in our experience and overall wonderful celebration for my mom’s birthday. Food was delicious!!

                                      Food was great - don’t sleep on the fried chicken and dessert. Service was rushed. We had staff repeatedly attempt to take our plates even when we were clearly not done. The sides are a little pricey but delicious.

                                      Wonderful new place for us to try out. The staff are incredible, friendly, efficient and professional. All the dishes were very flavorful. Large portions and easy to share with the table. A little more pricey than some other places but definitely worth the trip. In my top ten list for Chicago.

                                      While we loved the ambiance and the food, the service was lacking. Understandably, it was a busy weekend night but if a manager has to check in twice to see if we’ve had orders taken and our server rushed us to put in our entire food order the first time he stopped by. Of course, we were ready to do that, considering it took 20 minutes for our server to stop by in the first place. It was disappointing because reservations came in after us, and we felt so rushed in such a nice space.
