Buzzy, upbeat hotel brasserie located in the oh so pretty Covent Garden, the heart of London's theatreland. The interior is predictably theatrical therefore, but not overpoweringly so. The traditional design of the main Drawing Room has been lightened up with quirky furniture and bright groovy coloured soft furnishings whilst in the Brasserie itself you could act out your very own thriller or WWII resistance drama. This is a fab place to take just about anyone - teenage sister, maiden aunt, overseas visitors or a business contact. Go there for a first date if you want to set the right scene but don't want to look as though you're trying too hard. What's Cooking? Rock oysters, vine tomato and chilli salsa, roasted quail with puy lentils, fig and anchovies, Dover sole with warm potato and grain mustard salad and delicious Pear and apple crumble with ginger and vanilla ice cream to finish!

Unfortunately they had clearly overbooked and couldn't cope with the amount of covers. We had to wait so long I was faint from low blood sugars. The tea was pleasant but some of the small cakes were too rich. A bit disappointed to be honest.

Only five sandwiches and one pot of tea included in the price. Everything extra! Cakes inedible - like eating a bag of sugar! Scones good. Much better competitor out there.

We visited to celebrate a birthday. Staff were exceptional, food was delicious & a small birthday dessert was brought out after the main part of the meal. A huge thank you to all the staff working late afternoon on Thursday 2nd Nov for making it a special occasion!

Superb service, great atmosphere without being noisy. Excellent food and presentation. Only complaint was that there were bones in salmon fillet!

Some more attentiveness to our tea/milk levels, sandwiches a little dry on outside but v tasty fillings. Make smaller cos too much with everything else. Would have been more special with a table cloth. Nice doormen.
