    I had high hopes for this venue and had set my expectations accordingly. The reality was ( as is so often the case) somewhat different. Although we were greeted with some enthusiasm, the atmosphere in the restaurant seemed a little forced. This changed over the course of our meal and was genuinely lively. The start of our dining experience - ordering drinks Getting our food order in and then receiving our drinks, took far longer the it should have. 30+ minutes seems a little excessive. Overall, our time in the restaurant came to a few minutes short of two hours and whilst the main waiter serving us did a great job, my completely tasteless starter (salt and pepper squid for £11) and a largely cold roast beef (the carrots were stunningly good, the remainder quite tasteless), reinforced my sense of disappointment. Others did have very enjoyable and tasty meals, so that balanced out the experience.

    From the moment we sat down, we could tell it wasn’t going to be a good experience. From sitting down until we got our drinks, it was over 30 min. When we got the food finally, the order was wrong and what we received was cold and you could tell it had been sitting around a long time. It was really an awful experience.

    Great ambience, staff very friendly, manager particularly. We wanted to take our cousins from America and they really enjoyed it. Great choice on the menu and drinks good too and not too pricey. Will definately go back.

    Gorgeous meal, there was a private function in the restaurant but it was separated.from the rest of the diners so our meal remained unique to us and not overshadowed by others. Service, food and drink was great. Thank you.

    food nothing special, expensive pub grub. food came out within 10 minutes of ordering which surprised us.

    Great to see old Haugen open again. Decor and ambience as before so good news. Menu very diverse with no real direction. Food fine but far from exceptional, expected more for the Ramsay brand.
