Since our 1967 opening as a sister restaurant to the world-famous Commander’s Palace in New Orleans, Brennan's of Houston has evolved into the city's premier destination for memorable dining served with true Southern hospitality.

NOTE: We enforce a dress code minimum of business casual. Jackets are preferred but not required. We do not allow shorts, t-shirts, flip-flops, torn jeans, baseball caps, or athletic wear in the dining rooms.

                                                                The soups (1-1-1) were excellent as usual, with the soup of the day Shrimp Bisque. The Gulf Fish Bourne using Speckled Trout was the best fish I've had in a while. Fantastic meal as usual from Brennan's

                                                                The service by my fantastic waiter Love and his colleagues was impeccable, efficient, effective, personable, and well timed. From the front desk staff to bar to accompanying waiters, everyone was lovely. My family has had Brennan’s as a tradition for almost 20 years. However, the food this year was just not up to par. The rue base of my gumbo was watered down- no deep brown that I’ve seen in the past, and there weee way too many jalapeños as if shrimp was scarce. My steak was perfectly prepared medium rare, but my lobster was tough, so I ordered clarified butter to cover up the very rough texture. My mother’s Pontchatrain was magnificent. The wine was perfect, and the banana’s foster always a thrill tableside and delicious as ever. Pralines are divine. I hope Brennan’s can correct the mishaps in food, or we may be making a new tradition next year. I’ll send in my spy mouths to find out over the next few months. Let’s hope this traditionally fantastic restaurant corrects the errors.
