    My significant other and I were disappointed with our recent experience at Bresca. Given its recent Michelin star recognition, we arrived with high expectations for the tasting menu but, unfortunately, they were not met. While the food itself was flavorful and the presentations artful, we found it difficult to appreciate the table side descriptions of the dishes due to the high ambient noise level, which made it impossible to hear our server. One profound disappointment was the chicken entrée. My partner’s portion was significantly and noticably larger than mine, and her cabbage was seared beautifully while mine was missing any sear. This lack of consistency was glaring and, regrettably, not addressed before the dishes were brought to the table. At the end of the meal, we were presented with the check immediately, without any inquiry or follow-up regarding our dining experience. I consider myself fortunate to have dined at several Michelin-star restaurants in D.C., and I am well aware of the level of service and detail that accompanies such recognition. This visit, however, fell short of that standard. Bresca, did not demonstrate the excellence associated with the Michelin star they display atop their bar.

    Amazing staff. Amazing menu. Worth every penny. Go for the 4-course menu; you will not regret it. Cocktails are expertly crafted, too. District at its best.

    The service is impeccable. Constant attentiveness by the staff. Lots of courses that required precise timing and pacing. Loved the variety of food flavors in the tasting menu.

    Too noisy for fine dining. My short rib was disappointing. Should be fork tender but wasn’t and the sauce was a tad too thick for a short rib. I don’t like the stuffing under the chicken skin. Mushy Foie gras was superb

    While the food and service were good, there was little wow factor like there used to be. Maybe it’s just not a great seasonal menu, but nobody from my group left impressed
