Cute little place. Could tone down the lighting as it's very bright in there (lots of lights were already out --track lighting on ceiling-- but we thought more could be turned off or dimmed to improve the ambiance. Also, one light, or bulb, kept "flashing" which was very distracting, but all this can be easily fixed, so none of this should be held against the place.)
Though we didn't have any cocktails, they do have a "specialty" menu, and they have a full bar in case you want just about anything. Lots of wines to choose from.
Service was friendly and good.
The servings are large, so we only ordered our meals (rather than adding additional appetizers or starters). We had:
Linguine alla Chitarra ~ Shrimp, Clams, Mediterranean Mussels, Fish of the day, light tomato sauce. I really enjoyed this and all the seafood was cooked perfectly. Often, fish in a pasta dish will be overcooked & dry--these chunks were soft & perfect & tasty. Shrimp was also cooked perfectly (another item in pasta that can be overdone.) There is a lot of food in this dish, so I ate all the seafood & ended up taking half the pasta home.
Mom’s Lasagna ~ Layers of homemade pasta, bolognese, Béchamel sauce. This was OK, as the noodles were under cooked and very hard/chewy. This can be a tough one on lasagna & trying to keep the noodle layers to hold together in a nice shape, but these noodles were so under done it took away from the flavor and experience of the meal. (Bonus points that this lasagna did NOT lead to indigestion--which was the problem at a totally different restaurant we ate at recently!)
