Service was incredibly slow and inattentive. My water cup was empty multiple times, and it remained empty for a long time before being refilled. They rarely came around to ask if we needed anything or how the food was. The one time the server did come around to ask, “Was everything delicious?” I was in the middle of trying to chew a broccolini skin whose fiber was tougher than tree bark. He just looked at me while I struggled to chew this long, 8-inch fiber and walked away. This was not the level of service we expected from a five-star hotel and one of the most expensive restaurants in this resort.
We mentioned it was our anniversary tonight, but none of the staff acknowledged it or did anything special. This stood in stark contrast to the table next to us, which appeared to belong to Korean YouTubers with a GoPro. They received full attention, including instant service and attentive servers. The manager came by to chat with them about the islands and even comped them an additional large box of bread to go because they mentioned they liked it. This really made us feel like we should have brought out our GoPro as well. The level of service they received simply for holding a GoPro, compared to the lack of acknowledgment we received as a couple celebrating our anniversary, was stark and disappointing. The manager never stopped by our table, our server rarely checked in, and we had to watch as the table next to us was visited by three servers and a manager periodically.
One positive aspect of this place was the view and ambiance, which were spectacular—perfect for watching the sunset. There was live music and a really great atmosphere. These were the reasons we picked this restaurant in the first place, but everything else was disappointing. If you are willing to pay a premium for the view and ambiance, with lackluster food, this is your place. However, if you already have a hotel room in this resort (like us), I would stick to room service and your balcony.
