Located in New York City's Upper West Side, Bustan serves Mediterranean cuisine in a modern, colorful atmosphere. The restaurant offers a wide range of cuisine from Southern Europe to North Africa. Bustan also caters offsite events and offers takeout for its customers' convenience.

Start out your meal at Bustan with one of the restaurant's appetizers such as the hummus or the falafel with our homemade Taboon bread. Choose from dinner options like the Kebab Halabi or Chicken "Musakhan". Top off your experience with a dessert like the Nemesis: Baked chocolate mousse cake.

                                                            The food and service are great. The Moroccan Fish is a favorite dish of ours. The restaurant is usually a little too warm for our comfort, but we visit Bustan every time we visit NYC.

                                                            This was our first dining experience at this West Side gem on Amsterdam. We arrived 30 minutes early and were quickly accommodated. The menu is Israeli Mediterranean with a nice mix of appetizers, small plates, and large. My daughter had a featured cocktail, a spicy Marguerita, my wife a nice glass of Sauvignon Blanc, and I enjoyed generous neat Talisker single malt Scotch. Our waitress Gabriela was excellent throughout, explaining and advising about menu options, and there when needed without hovering or hurrying. Appetizers of cauliflower and roasted sweet potato were amazing. My Greek salad was generous and traditional - no lettuce but fresh tasty tomatoes and crunchy cukes, with olives and radishes and generous slabs of feta. My dinner of the lamb kebab, served in a thin pita bread that lined and covered the meal, was easily a ten, with about four delicious lamb patties amidst a delicious spicy (but not too spicy) sauce and fresh tasty vegetables, including tomatoes, peppers, and onions. My daughter had the Morroccan fish and my wife had the gem salad with chicken as an add on. The fish came in a healthy portion with a similar sauce. Only the dry chicken on the salad did not quite make the grade. Be sure to ask for a small loaf of the freshly baked bread. My wife and daughter needed to eat gluten free and were well accommodated. Our only regret was we were too full to try dessert. The final tab was reasonable. This was easily the best meal of our four days in Manhattan, trumping an expensive steak house by example. The vibe was also terrific, with a nice mix of all ages and enough happy and engaged conversation to provide anonymity without becoming a roar that can make simple communication difficult. We definitely shall return.

                                                            we arrived 8 minutes before opening time. it was cold and blustery and the maitre d was rude and wanted us to wait outdoors. Branzino filet were frozen tiny pieces the small plate of hummus were ridiculously small . would not recommend.

                                                            Great food and ambience. Service was incredible. The staff was very kind and let us be seated even after we were late to our reservations. Week day happy hour at the bar is an incredible deal as well. We definitely will recommend the place to others and keep it on our list for when we next visit the city.
