Horrible first and last experience at The Butler Inn. A large party of 16 people weee sat in the middle of a small room and the noise was unbearable. My wife’s Apple Watch kept warning of a loud environment and our table was unable to even talk to one another during our visit. Every other table in the room was visibly frustrated and the service was intentional to not even ask how our food and meal was during the visit. Fish was overbeeaded and overcooked. Ambiance was horrible due to the noise. If you’re going to have a party that large that yell at each other the whole dinner, try to seat them away from other diners or at least not in the middle of a room. Horrible experience and no interest or concern of others seating in the area.

Butler Inn has always delivered good results. People there are always welcoming and service is always great. Their 9 oz filet is their mainstay quality choice ( accompanied with house made chicken rice soup and hash browns) . Ownership did change a year or so ago and most things have remained the same with one exception for me >>> they need to improve the quality of their NY Strip steak - ordered it last two visits and thumbs down both times .

Excellent food and service! The French onion soup was amazing. The filet was one of the best steaks I've ever had.

We reserved a table for 4 people on a Saturday night at 6:30. We've enjoyed every meal over the years and have had excellent service, too. That's why my husband and I brought our family to enjoy the Butler Inn. However, there was an EXTREMELY LOUD Elvis-style lounge singer that night that we didn't know of in advance. We'd have come another night if we'd known. My brother has hearing difficulties and could not hear me standing next to him. I have no problems, but the sound level was so excessive as to be stressful. We had to leave, giving up our reservation. Next time, we'll call to ask if there'll be live music before we reserve. Open Table can't tell me that, unfortunately.

We've always enjoyed BI's 8-9 oz. filet (very tender, juicy, and perfect medium rare). Combine that with a baked potato and a tossed salad and we're a happy couple. Just a suggestion - the interior, although nice, could use an update.

Our reservations were at 6:30 but we went a little early to have a cocktail at the bar. We had a vodka gimlet and beer and our bill was $14. I ordered another gimlet at the table and was charged $16! The waitress said that the price was correct! It was not even a call brand of vodka. For dinner I had scallops which were good, my husband had shrimp which came from a box. He said they were good but I could have made the same thing at home for less. He did try to order the special which were ribs but they had run out of ribs. There were three choices of potato which were listed on the menu. I ordered the hash brown and was charged a $3.50 up charge which was not stated on the menu nor did the waitress tell us. Since I don't eat much of the potato I would have opted for baked instead of having the additional charge. The atmosphere was nice and service was good. A few of the steaks look good.
