Buttonwood is a neighborhood restaurant in Newton Highlands that serves rustic American food. Our bar focuses on local craft beers, classic cocktails, and small-production wines.                                       Service was great. Food was outstanding. Had the Mussels (A+), brick chicken-terrific and my wife had the pork chop). We love this place.

                                      Inattentive server - cold entrees - rude manager. This was our 4th time dining at Buttonwood, which had been a local favorite. No more though. The restaurant was not crowded yet there were times our server disappeared for stretches at a time. We did not have any appetizers this time but went straight for entrees - the pork chop and chicken under brick. One bite of both and we could tell they had been sitting out for a while. The corn bread was hotter than our entrees. After finally finding our server we sent both dishes back. When new dishes were served, we saw they were the same entrees, just reheated. Besides being not sanitary, both dishes were now over cooked. (In my experience, in nicer restaurants, if a dish needs to be redone for any reason, you start new). When the manager came over we explained the issue. He visibly sighed, rolled his eyes, and walked away from us. It was the rudest experience I have ever encountered at a supposedly nice restaurant. We were dumbstruck. He never returned so we left and went to the Irish pub around the corner having a much better overall experience It's sad because Buttonwood had been a nice place, but when management insults patrons like that, they lose business.

                                      Hi Dan - We are very sorry you had a disappointing experience. My sense after talking to folks was that there was a misunderstanding as we thought you had asked for your plates to just be heated up because you felt they weren't hot enough. In retrospect although we did replate them and bring new sides as well, we should have just made completely new entrees. That said there was no bad intention on our part and we apologize. Given the circumstances the bill was going to be comp'd even before you decided to leave. We are sorry you had a poor experience and we promise we will take good care of you should you decide to return.

                                      Everything was delicious, especially the beets appetizer and the risotto. Not a lot of vegetarian options on the menu, but they will modify menu items to accommodate vegetarians. Overall, a lovely place for dinner.
