I’ll be honest, I rarely write reviews and I try to never complain. Especially nowadays when I know places are short staffed it’s just better to be kind. But we were thoroughly disappointed with our time at the cabanas.
The pool- it was a very crowded day but nothing you could do about that. The pool was clean & the two toddlers we had with us loved it. So that’s all that mattered.
The service- this is where our problem was. The waitress that waited on our cabana also has the other cabanas which I believe all were occupied plus we’re pretty sure she had some tables up by the bar. She came to us about every half hour. Drinks took a long time to get. When trying to hit a $300 minimum with only 3 adults drinking, and service every 30 minutes it was going to take awhile to hit that minimum. One of the men in our party went to the lobby and asked to speak to the manager, the manager never came. We all knew it wasn’t our waitress’s fault…which was why he wanted to speak to the manager. She also told us they were out of seltzers which is what all of the drinkers in our group were planning to drink. We kept seeing other cabanas with seltzers. After asking again, the waitress informed us there was actually one type of seltzer. The men swear there was no booze in the mixed drinks they were ordering.
The food- super mediocre. We’ve stayed at the Ridge twice before and had many meals here and typically enjoy the food. What we ordered was just sub par. So much so that we didn’t order anything else beyond apps.
We had decided to just leave after 2.5 hours (when we had the cabana for 4 hours) because we were all just that disappointed. When we asked for the check I had asked for an itemized receipt to make sure we were charged correctly. We certainly weren’t overpaying for such a disappointing experience. The waitress kind of rolled her eyes at me when I did ask for this.
It took 40+ minutes to get our bill and pay!! It was crazy!!
