Located just off Sonoma Plaza, Cafe La Haye offers an appealingly unfussy sophistication. The split-level dining room holds just a dozen or so tables, but its open kitchen, raftered ceiling and walls adorned with modern art create a vibrant energy that’s contagious. Convivial owner Saul Gropman and chef Jeffrey Lloyd make a formidable team. Lloyd, former executive chef of restaurant Michael Mina, offers a seasonal menu that’s discreet in its complexity, featuring the sort of dishes that seem to get better with each bite. Gropman’s wine list comprises a modest 100 bottles, but it’s a smart, well-focused selection -
One of our fav restaurants when we go to Sonoma is Cafe LaHaye.
We have been going to Sonoma at least once a year for the last 16 years. We always make sure to go to dinner at Cafe LaHaye for their great food, great ambiance and great service they consistently deliver every time we hot there.
We go the to celebrate anniversaries or simply having a great dinner date. This is one you should not miss when on Sonoma.

We enjoyed our experience very much. The food was prepared well and very tasty but servings are on the small side. Restaurant is very cozy and intimate with seating on 2 different tiers; noise level was high when the restaurant was at peak capacity. Server and staff were very attentive. Desserts were delicious. Great location right off the square in Sonoma. Prices are a bit high and the wine list is pricey too. Corkage $35! We will try it again and go earlier next time. Reservations go fast due to limited capacity!
