Callie represents Chef Travis Swikard's debut solo project after spending a decade working alongside the esteemed Chef Daniel Boulud in New York City. The restaurant’s name, "Callie," comes from the Greek word "kallos," meaning "the most beautiful," and embodies its blend of Mediterranean cuisine with local ingredients and terroir, from sea to land from San Diego, Swikard's hometown. In 2022, Callie was acclaimed as one of America's top new restaurants by Esquire and Robb Report, and received both a Bib Gourmand and a Plate from the Michelin Guide. Callie is a dedicated supporter of Feeding San Diego, having contributed over 1 million meals to those in need in San Diego since its launch. Swikard is set to open his second restaurant in La Jolla in 2025.

Parking details
Our parking garage is located in the building, but because of the one way streets downtown, the entrance is on 11th Avenue between J St and Island Ave, on the right. The parking garage has a sign '1155 Parking' over top and is through LAZ. For security purposes, the gate will be down when you pull up, you will press the kiosk for a ticket. Once you've parked, take the elevators in the center up to the lobby and be sure to get your ticket validated by a host. Validation is good up to three hours.

Mediterranean Feast - Parties of 7 & 8 For the ultimate dining experience, choose The Mediterranean Feast, a 5-course, family-style menu priced at $75 per guest. This menu, curated by Chef Travis Swikard, provides a full culinary journey from spreads to dessert. While the Feast is required for parties of 7 or 8, it is also available to all guests without advance notice. When booking, please let us know of any dietary restrictions so we can accommodate them. To secure your reservation, a credit card is needed, but no charge will apply unless you cancel with less than 24 hours' notice or do not show up. In those cases, a $10 per guest fee will be charged to the credit card on file.

From start to finish what a phenomenal expirience.. The best chicken I’ve ever had in my life. Service was top notch, special shout out to Martin behind the bar!

Held a business dinner here and it was outstanding. The staff was expert in their recommendations and each course was uniquely enjoyable. Highly recommend.

It was so much more than the exquisite meal - it was an experience. Callie’s servers are the most knowledgable, best trained, most service oriented team we’ve ever experienced. We had the tasting menu which was EXTRAORDINARY and - for the brave - the delicious Kook Juice from the bar. Our favorite place to dine in San Diego!

We've eaten at Callie several times. Food is usually very good, and service is excellent. This time, January 8, 2025, the Babaghanoush was overly salty; it's normally delicious. Also, my Pappardelle entree was overly salty. That's the first time that we got overly salty food there. Everything else was delicious, as usual. My husband's hangar steak was perfect! I loved the Brocolini salad, the crispy potatoes were good, the hot pita bread is awesome, and the warm chocolate chip cookie dessert is always wonderful.

We went to Callie to celebrate my husband’s birthday! It was our first time there, but was absolutely blown away by how delicious everything was. We loved every dish we ordered and between the 4 of us, we ordered 8 dishes. Every bite was heavenly!! We also saw the chef in real action so that was so cool. However, we were greeted with very cold hostess and our waitress was also very cold. The bus boy was so attentive and checked on us more often than our waitress. I guess it’s because of the 20% gratuity was automatically included in the bill, there wasn’t really a need to provide good services, I guess. The restaurant was so clean and very beautiful. I would think if the services is on par with how expensive food actually is, I would give it a 5 star. I failed to mention that we were celebrating my husband’s birthday when making the reservation online, but I did make a point to let our waitress know. She let me know that there will be a sorbet with a candle in the end, but she ended up just giving my husband the bill instead and wished him a happy birthday. No complimentary sorbet. It was a little unsettling and disappointing.
