Res was at 7, didn’t order until almost 8. Food was mediocre at best. Overall seemed understaffed, and nothing was great.

I love Can Font. Came back to Portland after we moved away 4 years ago. So worth it. Glad they survived Covid. One critique would be that they got rid of half their menu, it used to include main dishes that were very tasty. Now there are only paellas replacing main dishes… a bit disappointed. But food, service, ambiance are still great, I will always come back while visiting Portland!

This restaurant is exceptional. The most intoxicating aromas make your mouth water the minute you walk in. Genuine engaging and personable staff. The seating is arranged for privacy in a community vibe. I love the single menu, food on one side drinks on the other, that clearly offers variety and quality. Not overwhelming me with multiple pages where, for me, ordering can become a stressful chore. The drinks were special. I recommend the Rosa with gin. Thank you to Sean for the suggestion. The tapas delicious. As a vegetarian, the Patatas Bravas and Beet salad were pleasing to all senses. Gorgeous food! The vegan paella hit just the right notes. All of it was comfort food without being too filling. So, of course we had room for a heavenly chocolate desert. A balanced beautiful meal and experience. Highest recommendations ✨✨✨✨

My wife and I got a gift card for our anniversary from our kids, which is why we went here. We usually eat locally and we don't live in Portland. There is no dedicated parking, so people driving to this location need to add in time to look for parking and walk to the restaurant. Street parking costs about $3 per hour, with a maximum of two hours. Three of the Trimet trains have a nearby stop. Can Font has a small clean dining room and bar with large windows on the street and a view into the kitchen. Plenty of room for the tables, so it's not going to get uncomfortably crowded. Tables are pretty small, especially for more than two diners. Wait staff is friendly and competent. Food is selected from a fairly small menu that includes a lot of drinks from the bar. Cuisine is Spanish fusion and is very good. Prices are quite reasonable. Diners can eat as individual diners or eat "family style" by sharing from one or more menu items. The portions are quite large, so one menu item is probably plenty for two people. There is a separate dessert menu.

The tapas were amazing! But, we got 4 different paella dishes and all of them were incredibly “fishy”. No real saffron flavor. Very disappointing! Tasted a lot like “cat food”.

Great meal. Four of us shared tapas and then had to get a single serving of Paella ! Accompanied with sangria. All was near perfect. Only disappointment was the seafood stew tapas. Sauce was awesome and most of the fish was great, but the shrimp was mushy. :-( Service was appropriate and friendly. Ambiance great. We came on a weekday so the restaurant was relatively quiet. Might be overwhelming on a busy weekend.
