Dinner Menu by Chef José Enrique.

Jose Enrique was featured in the 25th Anniversary edition of the Food & Wines Best New Chefs and chosen as one of the "Best New Chefs." From 2015 to 2020, he made it to the finals of the James Beard Awards- the first time ever that a Puerto Rican gets this recognition.

Located in the heart of the legendary Fairmont El San Juan Hotel, Caña is an authentic Puerto Rican restaurant featuring an elevated menu composed of fresh dishes made with local ingredients and exquisite seafood options. Featuring both tropical outdoor and indoor seating, Caña maintains the best traditions of the Island of Enchantment, old and new. Its iconic bar features unique Puerto Rican rum cocktails and a curated selection of exclusive wines, elevating the culinary experience to an unforgettable cultural celebration. Enjoy daily breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Brunch is served on Sundays.

    We ordered drinks, apps, sides and main courses and left hungry. Well over priced based on quality of food flavors and preparation. $50 Pork chop very thin cut and over cooked/dry. $45 sword fish was also petit and dry. Tostones had no flavor, dipping sauce tasted like ketchup. Salads, fish pancakes and crudo were ho hum. Any way over priced for portion sizes. We would have ordered more food but decided to get a second meal at Lupi around the corner. Our waiter was a little passive aggressive and I think he would have made ordering more entrees uncomfortable. Location and Atmosphere were very nice, but I can't recommend to waste money on a blah meal when many better options in San Juan.

    Our meal was fantastic. We had the salmon w chickpeas and the lobster soup. Both were delicious. Our waiter was also very accommodating. My mom had a sore throat, so he brought her some chamomile tea with sliced lemons and a little jar of honey, and some cream. He was very attentive throughout the whole meal. Food came on time. It was hot. It was divine. The salmon was cooked to perfection. Could not have had a better meal here at the Fairmont.

    Siento que el valor de la experiencia fue demasiado alto como para la poca comida que sirvieron. La comida estaba exquisita pero cuando separé la comida y pagué el dinero decía que el costo incluía los impuestos y tal y terminé pagando demasiado. Creo que deben especificar que el costo que se paga aquí en la app es un hold y que en el restaurante es que vas a pagar. Eso me tomó de sorpresa porque pensé que ya había pagado por la experiencia. A demás reservé una mes dentro la cual no había disponible a la hora que reservé y terminamos esperando en la barra. La mesera se tardaba demasiado y el restaurante no estaba lleno.

    El servicio estuvo algo más que deficiente en todos los sentidos un menú mal presentado, mal confeccionado y muy lejos de las expectativas que uno tiene para una noche romántica y en un hotel. En general fatal. Y me trajeron la cuenta equivocada para colmo.

    The red snapper was overcooked. The side of green beans was not edible. The waiter saw that I had hardly eaten anything and did not address. $200 for an awful meal. Very disappointed.
