Very rude staff from the second I walked in which immediately set the wrong tone. I was told I wasn’t allowed to sit in a booth because we only had 3, not 4 guests, despite the restaurant being 100% empty (and, to note, this booth was still not filled more than two hours later). They then proceeded to tell me I only had 90 minutes before I even sat down, and when I said that wasn’t long enough, they extended it to 2h. Note that would have been spending a fair amount of money but the vibe they set was so wrong, I’m glad, in the end, we didn’t have the opportunity!! The staff then proceeded to rush us so completely through insisting on clearing plates before anyone had finished eating, coming over every 5 minutes to take more away, at times even taking full dishes away that we were still eating!! We were brought the bill without asking, and had to ask it to be reissued because we hadn’t finished ordering. I appreciate that it is a busy time of year but for staff to be so incredibly rude in what should be a well regarded establishment not only takes their brand but the overall Ned brand into disrepute. Luckily my friends and I went on elsewhere and didn’t waste too much time nor money at Malibu but I would have been incredibly disappointed if I had been attending this “restaurant” for anything more than a cocktail and a nibble. I will never return.
