Capital Prime, an award-winning steakhouse and seafood restaurant in Lansing, Michigan, features hand-cut USDA Prime and Certified Angus Beef. Aged a minimum of 21 days, all steaks are prepared with our special blend of house seasonings and broiled at 1800°. You will not find a better steak anywhere.

Our seafood is chosen for freshness and flavor and prepared by our certified chefs to be delicious, perfectly prepared and presented.

    I’ve been to capital prime 6-7 times over the past 1.5years. Last night was the worst dining experience I’ve ever had at any restaurant. We were seated immediately. Then waited 17 minutes for our waitress to bring us water and introduce herself. Ordered the filet mignon medium it arrived rare. Alaskan crab legs were ordered they were overly salted. We mentioned this to the waitress and she said she’d let the chef know. She waited on a few other tables and didn’t come back so I stopped who happened to be the manager. I asked him about the cook on the meat and he agreed that it was rare. He apologized and took our plates. Waitress came back around and offered a free dessert. I told her with how things have been prepared tonight no thank you. Nothing was removed from the $175 bill. I planned on buying two $100 gift cards because of their holiday special but decided instead I wouldn’t be returning for a long time. Fine dining expectations for me is over the top customer service and some of the best food I’ve ever had…that’s why they charge so much. Instead it was terrible service and food that was way below expectations. I always recommended this place for Lansing that won’t be happening anytime soon.

    Great choice. Bowdies or Capital is always a debate in Lansing but Capital edged them out in this case. Meting our son’s new girlfriend for the first time so it was a semi special event. Waiters gave us enough space to talk without constant intrusion and lessened the nerves all around. Enough menu choices for the girlfriend to not have to get the most expensive steak. Son got his 60 pound ribeye so he was thrilled. Apparently grad students are like hummingbirds consuming their weight in calories daily. My wife loved the perfectly prepared filet and the espresso martini’s and I savored my one glass of the house Cabernet (designated driver). Overall great food, exemplary service, great atmosphere and though expensive, was still a value for the experience.

    Both of our steaks came out very undercooked. My husband‘s was inedible. We couldn’t eat it. Mine was sent back and still came back under temp. I was very disappointed in the way the manager handled it. It was our anniversary so you know yes we had a great atmosphere and our waiter was amazing. I just felt that for the amount that we paid and the quality of the food I will not be going back. I was very disappointed. It was very highly recommended and like I said, I feel like the manager really dropped the ball.

    Great experience! It was our anniversary and first time dining in and everyone from the server, to the host stand, to the manager wishing us a happy anniversary was amazing. The food and wine were delicious.

    It was a bad experience. Kitchen service was very slow. We didn’t get our entree until around 8:30. Our reservation was 6:45. Table next to us got up and left when food was served. I think they said it was all cold. Manager talked to us, letting us know there was a delay…. Which we had already deduced. We expressed our frustration & disappointment and that we were wondering if kitchen staff had not shown up or something. Finally our food showed up. Mine was good- a filet. Dad got walleye and he was not a fan. They took 50% off. Probably won’t return.

    The burger was great, but a bit expensive, they could definitely bring it down by a bit. Also got the Mac n cheese, was just alright, I wouldn’t get it again. Overall great and fast service, good atmosphere. Will be back someday for sure

    I ordered an appetizer, main dish and desert and they all came in a fast manner! Did not have to wait long! The waiter was very kind! Kept checking up on me and the food was amazing!

    (11/14/24 - 6:15pm ish) First course was good, had the French onion soup and my grandmother had the scallops Rockefeller. Unfortunately both of our steaks were overcooked when they came out. I didn’t care because I was just hungry but my grandmother sent hers back. They made her a whole new steak but when it finally came out it was raw not even rare. After the first mess up the manager offered a free desert and then eventually took my grandmothers steak off the bill. It was getting late and I wasn’t in the mood to wait for my steak to be cold for her third to come out. I don't get to go out with her very much so we were both very disappointed. I’m not sure what was wrong with our server(Paul). He was nice but the service was lacking and overall uncomfortable vibes tho whole time. Not worth the prices we paid at all.
