Starting back in 1930's as a sandwich shop for railroad workers and travelers, Caps quickly became a favorite in the region! Today diners from across the country seek Caproni's and our river town out for the best dining, art, shopping and history.

    Our Valentines Day dinner was delicious! I had the eggplant parm and my husband had the special prime rib plus we had the fried green tomatoes as an appetizer and cheesecake for dessert. Don’t sleep on the tomatoes, they are so good! The only drawback was that we were seated near the station where the staff retrieved glasses and silverware. No matter how hard they tried, it was very noisy.

    From the moment we drove into the lot, we were impressed. Great location with ample parking for an early dinner. Clean and comfortable inside. Super courteous hostess and outstanding server. The food was incredible - delicious, Jeff Ruby quality actually. We had an appetizer, steaks, desserts, and the price was very reasonable. This was our first visit but we will definitely return!

    The service was excellent. Wine section was great. Filet was cooked to perfection and scallops were delicious.

    My wife and I celebrated our 43rd wedding anniversary at Caproni's....the services was great! The food was great! We had a wonderful time...highly recommend.
