Carmella’s Plates & Pints is the first restaurant for co-owners, Carmella Salem and Michael Alberter. Our kitchen creates upscale comfort cuisine.
Our dining room has a warm and cozy feel due to the wood- beamed cathedral ceiling, open fireplace, taxidermy and stained glass windows that adorn the dining room. Our guests feel as though they are tucked away at some destination lodge that exists in the heart of the Historic Southside. Local meats are delivered daily with Wild Game plates on the menu such as our staple plates like the Bison Burger and Smoked Wild Boar Meatballs. We do have an intimate 60 seat dining room and ask that guests please call us for parties of 6 or more to make a reservation. Our expansive Whiskey Bar boasts over 500 Selections. Enjoy 11 Wines on Tap / 27 Craft beers on Tap / 11 Cocktails on Tap.

    We were coming from a Steelers game and weren’t sure how long it would take to get there, so we ended up arriving 30 minutes early. The hoat was very friendly and was able to seat us early. Our server was friendly and answered all our questions. Brussel sprouts, pierogies, meatloaf and crab cakes were very good. The pot pie and risotto were a little bland. Prices were a little high but overall we liked the ambiance and experience.

    Always a delicious dinner. Nice seasonal menu entree changes. Meatloaf & Amish Pie dinners were excellent! The best bartenders and cocktails in Pittsburgh (we travel from 500+ miles away & always stop in when in town) old fashioned cocktail is my personal favorite. Keep it going! Bravo!

    The brunch entrees were just ok. The breakfast meats were extremely salty and food was not warm. We felt bad for the server because he said 2 other servers called off which is never a good thing. Nice atmosphere but the food was disappointing.

    This was our second time here - menu has changed but drinks and food were outstanding. Might be our new go-to place when visiting Pittsburgh.

    My girlfriends and I each got different dishes, and each one of them was delicious! I would definitely recommend this restaurant, and their bar was amazing!

    Great find for a Sunday Brunch! Surprised to see people waiting at the door for opening— that secured it was a popular spot. Service was exceptional and food outstanding

    The atmosphere at Carmella's is always great and a great escape from the other bars in the southside. I had the butternut squash risotto which was amazing, the perfect fall dish!

    Love the atmosphere. Service was great loved our server. Food disappointed. Couldn't wait to try the Waygu burger & honestly it was over cooked, small on the bun & dry. I will be back but will try something else. 4 people at our table ordered the burger with the same criticism. Price seem worth it.

    Carmella’s never disappoints no matter if it’s brunch, lunch or dinner. Service is always outstanding. We had a ladies’ brunch and it was perfection. The espresso martini was the best I’ve ever had. I look forward to going to Carmella’s every chance I get! Love everyone there 🥂🍾
