All shortcomings of this review hinged on the attitude and choices of the hostess. It continued to affect our entire experience. We got there 20 minutes before our reservation because there was a crowd and we had to park several blocks away. Whe we walked in the door we were not greeted. We were told they did open until 12:00 pm and we had to leave. I have trouble walking and there was nowhere to stand on the street, so we tried to explain, but Texas hospitality was replaced by something just short of hostility. We walked 2 blocks to find somewhere to rest and wait. When I returned at 11:58, I was surprised to see several tables seated to my left in back of the first area and 2 couples waiting inside the door. Apparently the “closed until 12:00” had been lifted. After the couples were seated in another room, there was no smile or greeting, simply flatly requested my name. The reservation was for my boyfriend’s 70th birthday and we had come from central Illinois to eat here because he had remembered it when he was here before. He enjoyed it so eating here was on our list for this trip to Arlington. Reading my notes, she decides the best table for us was right next to the door on the main walkway to and from the other much nicer space. I really believe we should have gotten a discount since I greeted nearly everyone who walked through to the other area and the staff delivering food to our section. It was quite disappointing. Most of this first space was empty and I saw there were only a few people sitting in the nicer area. Our waitress was sweet. She made a bad situation better but we were reminded of the poor behavior of the hostess every time someone, staff or guest, walked past. I wonder why we were singled out to be treated this way. The food was good the server was great. Just a bad experience.
