It was very nice. We went on our first date at Cento, and now we’re engaged. First time back since getting engaged. We told the waitress and she was like whatever lol We liked sitting at the counter - fun to watch the chefs! Gem Caesar - amazing Meatballs - amazing Mussels - not very flavorful broth at all but bread was good Spicy Pomodoro - overall good, always feels like it’s missing meat Corn Agnolotti - amazing Cucumber Basil marg - amazing

Octopus: delicious. No complaints. Perhaps I was hoping for a bigger portion but good regardless. The squid ink pasta: interestingly flavored a little spicy. Not very strong in tomato flavor as I would expect. Tasted more like the north western cuisine of china. Duck confit: so creamy, buttery and tender. Must try. Outside patio is very cute and romantic. The establishment is smaller than I expected but very cute. Service: on time and caring.

Overall just a very disappointing experience. I had read such great press about this place and it is clearly all hype. My friend and I had a 8:45 reservations and we were seated much much after that- maybe 20/30 mins. We are both servers ourselves, so we understand how sometimes flipping tables doesn’t go to plan so it didn’t phase us too much. A manager or host was very kind and brought us a complimentary white wine. If the food had been delicious, the late seating wouldn’t even be a big deal. Sadly, the food was mediocre at best. Cesar salad tasted like ranch dressing, meatballs tasted like BBQ sauce, and the branzino was just blah. The mafaldine was good though so maybe that was just our bad on ordering non-pasta items. In the end, paying $100 each for a mediocre meal is pretty painful when we look forward to our nights off.

I’ve been here several times, the food and the service is amazing! My only suggestion is, I wish they would place bread on the menu. We were allowed to order it separately, but it is not a regular menu item. It’s perfect for sopping up all the yummy sauce!
