Absolutely love Chaplin. Not sure if this was an off night, but our food took two hours to get to our table. I am guessing our waitress forgot to put the order in, but one would think that when two employees came to the table to apologize that someone would have at least brought some bread. Food and drinks were great. The heaters on the outside patio either have a “hell” setting or off. Be weary if you are a generally warm warm person.

Amazing as usual. I met a friend to celebrate her birthday. It was her first time there and she was impressed. The service was friendly and not rushed. Amanda, our server did an awesome job. The food was delicious. The steak tartar is my favorite, and it did not disappoint. Always a great meal at Chaplin.

This is one of our favorite restaurants. We drive from New Haven, where there is a lot of great restaurants but Chaplin is worth the extra drive! The food is excellent! Some of our favorites are the polenta fries, the steak, which is always perfectly cooked, the pork belly Mac and cheese, and the fries are amazing! Every dish is full of flavor and you can tell the chef gave thought into preparing a dish that is well rounded. The ambiance is so fun and the outdoor patio is great anytime of year! The staff is excellent, from the hostess to the wait staff, and the bartenders, they are all so friendly and put their best foot forward every day. Another great thing is their playlist that is fun and young with the right amount of energy. We highly recommend it!

Chaplain is a nice higher end option in this part of Shelton. The service is always excellent and the food is very good. It's also a great place for having a few cocktails and meeting up with friends at the bar.

We made a reservation for 7pm and were seated right away. We were given menus. We sat there for 15 minutes and no one came to even bring us water or take our drink order. So we left without ever having a glass of water. The only thing anyone said was thank you for coming in tonight. Incredibly disappointing evening.

Food was good, service was very slow considering they weren’t that busy, lots of empty tables in the dining room and bar area. We’d certainly give them another try as the food was pretty good.

Went there for lunch on Saturday afternoon. The place was very quiet and yet the service was only okay. Food was excellent. Ambience very good, sort of modern, nothing outstanding. Might try it again on a Friday or Saturday night.
