    Our Thanksgiving experience at Chart House was disappointing. We had a 1:15 reservation for the four of us. We were seated promptly as the restaurant was far from filled. The scaled down prix fixe menu included a traditional turkey entree option. Two of our guests ordered the $68 per person traditional fair of turkey, potatoes, and creamed spinach. The turkey was massively over salted, the creamed spinach was missing from one order, and the pumpkin pie was served literally still frozen. The third guest ordered the $72 filet mignon, which was cooked and seasoned wonderfully. The fourth guest ordered the $78 king salmon, which was served with a sad side of a vegetable medley haphazardly strewn onto the plate. No other sides, no garnish, no evidence of making an effort. The service was terrible: Our party of four was served two at a time: an order of turkey and the filet mignon; after five minutes our remaining order of turkey and salmon were served. Our food was served with no pretense of knowing whom each order belonged to; we had to sort out the correct orders among ourselves. As a party of four w/ a straightforward order from a limited prix fixe menu, our four orders should and could have been served simultaneously and to the correct guests. There was nothing complicated to coordinate. The waiter seemed to have difficulty finding a steak knife for the filet. Finding forks for our desserts was an even more insurmountable feat. A non-alcoholic beverage took 15 minutes to be served (after our gentle reminder). We were presented with the check for another table, not our own check. Once we received our correct check, paying with a credit card was made more tedious because our service person did not provide a pen. Our two word conclusion: Never Again.

    Waited an hour and fifteen minutes for our food. The place was empty and we had two super hangry toddlers.

    The shrimp cocktail was not fresh at all! It’s probably the worst shrimp cocktail I’ve ever had at a restaurant. Service was really great once the staff realized who my date was. )

    The view of the Potomac from our table was inspiring and from a distance we could see fire works display. It went on for about 5-6 minutes and several customers in the restaurant enjoyed it. Our waitress, Niyah, was funny and amazing. She made awesome recommendations and she made our anniversary dinner a very fun event. Our drinks were very good. The personalized menus were a surprise and we will cherish them.. thank you Chart House. The only con I would have about the entire Chart House experience is that the food was not seasoned. I do not like a lot of seasoning and I understand that restaurants lightly season their food because they are serving many customers but this food ( lamb chops and steak) had no seasoning. It was not lightly seasoned. It was no seasoning.

    We enjoyed our dinner at the Chart House, but they didn’t have the cocktail I wanted from the menu. My stuffed shrimp were very small, but my husband’s filet was delicious.

    This restaurant has been in the same, incredibly picturesque location for as long as I can remember (at least 25 years), and I think the only thing that has changed are the lightbulbs! The menu is tired, as is the ambience, and perhaps even the restaurant staff! Literally NOTHING has changed here and while “if it’s not broken don’t fix it” works for some historic locations in the area, this place isn’t one of them. We came here for our 25th anniversary and probably sat in the same seats, viewed the same menu and walked the same tired carpet as we did when we were first married! Our food was good, but not spectacular. We would have been served similar at the local upscale diner or any other restaurant stuck in the 1990’s or earlier. My filet was served with a warm lump of mashed potatoes and nothing else, and I was almost embarrassed to be there. Never again! Sorry…not sorry!

    Both TJ, the bartender and Kitty, our server were phenomenal!!! Both treated us like regulars eventhough we had not been to the restaurant in a while. Enjoyed talking with TJ, great personality...beautiful evening with great food and drinks!!!
