Cheese & Bread: A Taste of Georgia in Norwalk

Cheese & Bread is a new casual neighborhood eatery specializing in authentic Georgian cuisine. We offer a unique dining experience with delicious food, a warm atmosphere, and live music.

**Our menu features:**

* **Traditional Georgian dishes:** Khachapuri (stuffed bread), khinkali (dumplings), kupati sausage, meat and fish kebabs, chakapuli veal stew, and ojakhuri fried potato with meat and onions.
* **Full bar:** Beer, wine, and spirits, including an extensive Georgian wine list.
* **Coffee bar:** Enjoy a coffee or tea throughout the day.
* **Breakfast:** Starting in August.

**We are located at 68 Washington Street in South Norwalk.**

Loved the ambiance and music. Regarding food, the duck salad was alright. The duck was a little tough to chew. Loved Georgian wine

Food was interesting - service was lacking and we had to repeatedly look for our waitperson and ask for things despite the fact that no one was there. I probably won’t go back for that reason.

Pretty awful experience for the first time visit. Service was extremely slow and inattentive. It took the server 15 minutes to bring water. The main courses for 3 of us arrived 20 minutes apart. the lamb shish kebab, which is a Georgian cuisine staple, was very stiff and wiry. Side veggies were tasteless. Having been fans of Georgian cuisine for years, we were very disappointed. There was a big banquet going on in the back room, so they were clearly short on resources, but the banquet started at 3 PM and our reservation was for 6 PM so there is no excuse for such a slow service. It looks like the owners put emphasis on appearances and not the food or service. The digital tablet menus didn’t make up for poor quality.

The food was great, but there was a lapse before we all got our apps and same with dinner. They were out of certain dinners and only had one dessert available. They had nice music playing which got louder and louder. Prices were reasonable.

Food is great and big personal plates are great for sharing food. service is nice, good view to see train passing so kids are happy.

We had an amazing dinner and were served by the best person ever! She helped us understand the entire menu, brought us tastings of several wines so we could make our selections. Ended up bringing home almost half of our meal as the portions are huge. The assortment of spreads was enough for 4 people especially paired with the double cheese bread. We both had kebobs which were so nice and served with an assortment of veggies and very thinly sliced red onion. For us it will be an occasion place. Our reservation was a t 6 and by the time we left at 7:45 the restaurant was full with a lot of folks sitting at the bar.
