A Story of bringing the East to the West, written by Chef Jiwoo Choi.
Choi's is a Contemporary Asian restaurant founded by Choi, who was at the time, 23 years old. Voted as the best Korean restaurant by San Diego Magazine, Choi's brings creativity and intensity by carrying their classic menu as well as a rotating Weekly Menu. Choi's Happy Hour highlights $1.50 Fresh Oysters, $5 Bao Tacos, $7 Specialty Cocktails, $5 Beers, to name a few. We provide a 2 hour complimentary parking for our guests. Please look for retail parking garage, in the park 12 premise, on 12th Avenue. The gate will be activated when your vehicle pulls towards the gate. Please ask your server for validation after your Choi's experience. This 7 course is written by you and developed by Chef Choi. Answer these personal questions and have a unique dinner come to life in front of you and up to three additional guests at the iconic "Oval." What was your favorite childhood meal? When was the happiest moment of your life? What is your occupation, and what do you love and hate about it? What does your ideal vacation look like? How would you describe your clothing style? What is a life goal you have? Choi's promises a full secrecy on the answers given for the questions. We are excited to be creative within your life story. We are excited to write this story with you. *The story/dinner will be based on the "head," "host," or the "main guest" of the table.

This place is a gem! Dylan, was absolutely amazing and so hands on with the service we received. He was attentive to our table and honestly the highlight of our night. Food was incredible as well as the drinks. What a cool spot! I’ll definitely be coming back here soon.

Came in with a party of 8 and Dylan took care of us but all the staff was amazing! The food was delicious and all of us shared. Drinks were also delicious. Dylan never missed with his recommendations.

We went here for dinner on a Friday night. The food and drinks were great! The reviews gave high praise to the chicken, but we thought it was just ok. We really enjoyed the Galbi bowl, the gnocchi tekbokki (night’s special) and the charred octopus. Do not sleep on the mokpo skies cocktail. It was delicious!!

What a memorable experience mom and I had at Choi’s tonight!! The Korean Crispy chicken was exquisite and so beautifully presented. I very much appreciated the card with quote and my name on the reserved table; wow, what a special touch!! Thank you so much to the amazing Chef, GM and our awesome server for a wonderful night. 100/10.

Top Korean food in San Diego. Upscale with a subtle twist. Everyone needs to know about this place! You’re not here for a California roll or happy hour gimmick . You come here knowing it’s going to be good and every bite tastes the same, superb.

This was our first visit and we had a great date night. We had the cucumber kimchi, the shrimp special, and the shortrib. All of the dishes were delicious. The ingredients were very fresh and interesting. The service was excellent. All of the staff was attentive and friendly. The chef stopped by several times making sure that all was great with our meal. We will definitely return soon. We highly recommend Choi's.

Title: A Perfect Birthday Celebration at Choi’s Korean! I recently celebrated my daughter's birthday at Choi’s Korean in San Diego, and I can't express how wonderful the experience was! From the moment we arrived, we were greeted with warm smiles and exceptional service. The chef even called to confirm our reservation, which was a delightful personal touch that made us feel truly valued. The food was nothing short of amazing! Each dish was beautifully presented and bursting with flavor. We tried a variety of items, and every single one exceeded our expectations. The highlight of the evening was when the chef surprised my daughter with a special treat for her birthday, making her feel extra special on her big day. The ambiance of the restaurant was inviting and beautiful, perfect for a family celebration. We left Choice Korean with full bellies and happy hearts, and we can’t wait to return for another amazing meal. If you’re looking for delicious Korean cuisine and top-notch service, I highly recommend Choice Korean! Thank you for making my daughter's birthday so memorable!

Everything we ordered was absolutely delicious! (I already want another mushroom bao taco). Unfortunately, the rest of the experience left a lot to be desired. Maybe the 8 top in the back was being extra needy and throwing the team off, or maybe a FOH staff member called out, but we struggled to get anyone to help us throughout the entire experience. At one point I contemplated abandoning ship and seeing if we could walk in at Callie for our celebration meal. For example, after 1.5 courses without being asked if we’d like another glass of wine (our glasses sat empty for over an hour), I went to the bar and politely asked if we could have two glasses, explaining that our server was busy and I wasn’t simply ignoring the fact that I should order through him. The purse hook is a nice touch, but the one provided was way too short, and a team member noted this, but it was never remedied. I saw taller ones nearby but didn’t want to be rude and grab one for myself. The table to our left sat for a long time at the end of their meal before being presented with their check, and they seemed annoyed. We watched a team member hand a utensil through the plant near the kitchen to a guest instead of walking around the plant (which made the guest jump and was kind of hilarious). At the end of our meal, our server apologized for the slow service, and I felt bad for him because he’d seemed overly busy the entire night. I’ve been there, it’s super stressful! Overall, the meal was wonderful, but it wasn’t the top-notch experience we’d hoped for at a higher-end restaurant.
