Best of British beef, butchered & dry-aged in house and cooked over a charcoal grill. Chop House is an innovative blend of classic British steakhouse and cocktail bar brought to you by the team behind Monteiths & the White Horse Oyster Bar. Provenance is at the centre of the Chop House offer and we use only the finest beef sourced from artisan suppliers across Scotland.
The meat is dry aged for up to 90 days to add flavour, increase tenderness then the beef cooked on a charcoal grill, specially designed to give a subtle smoky flavour. I Have dined in Chop house many times but I was not very satisfied on this occasion. Usually I would be thrilled with the service and recommending to friends but this visit left a sour taste. We were seated and waited over an hour for main meals, no starters ordered. Two at the table requested well done steak and burger and both came out raw, the one who had the steak was also pregnant hence asking for well done. She returned the steak and steak still came back on the side of raw.

Overall lovely ! Booked a month ago and no mention of having to booked ahead for the Xmas menu.. was a bit disappointed! We went for Sunday menu. Meal .. was ok at best I’d say but fine for £35 May make me not rush back if honest..

our booking was for 7:30pm and 2 of the 6 mains were already unavailable - the steak burger and the steak sourdough. given its a steak restaurant and steaks were still available - go buy some burger buns! we ordered the sirloin instead and it was tough. we were recommended this restaurant and for our first night in town; it was a disappointment. we sat downstairs - perhaps there was more atmosphere upstairs…

Sunday roast was cooked served ‘blue’. Veg was over salted, gravy was like thick Bisto. Management apologised saying the chef was tired, having an off day. First visit certainly won’t be back.

Can’t fault anything about it food and service was tremendous only negative was they asked us to move booking by half hour then chased us out I felt
