We were very excited to try Chouette for the first time, but unfortunately were very disappointed. When we walked into the restaurant on a Saturday night at 8:15 pm, no one greeted us. There was a man standing at the bar who was talking to the bartender, turned his head and said - "Oh, hello, welcome". He seemed bothered to have had to leave his conversation with the bartender. Introduced himself as Ben and walked us to our table. Our table should be removed from the restaurant. It is in a very high traffic area right by the (very) noisy kitchen and awkwardly positioned and too small. We decided to stay there since we were not offered another table and restaurant looked full. Our server was nice enough, but was extremely slow - especially getting us our bottle of wine (thought she may even went to France to get it!) - we had NO wine service or presentation, she poured 2 sipping pours into our glasses and then walked away. She NEVER poured our wine throughout the entire meal - disappointing for a $100+ bottle of wine.
We ordered mussels and the Trout and were served mussels and the salmon dish - someone just put the food down and left. We realized that we received the salmon and it took forever to find our server (I had to ask someone else to get her) to let her know. Little to no apology and then said she'd bring the Trout out soon. Overall the food was good - especially the Trout which we were very excited about and glad we finally received. We were charged for the salmon, not the trout, but honestly the right thing to do would have been to not charge us for either since it was their mistake. Overalll, the service was a huge disappointment and at this price point, not sure if we will return or recommend. Hoping that management can make some changes.
