Our 2nd try, first time was Thanksgiving about a month after their opening. That was a total failure with waiting for 45 minutes for our “Thanksgiving fixed plate”.
This visit, our server was pleasant, and professional. The restaurant was 50% capacity, our appetizers arrived in about 20 minutes, meatballs and pumpkin risotto. Both were excellent, hot and tasty. Then, again as last visit there seemed to be another disconnect between when the dishes are ready and when brought to the table. A “food delivery person” brings the dishes from the kitchen warming shelf to each table. Well, 45 minutes until our main courses were delivered. I watched as they were sitting on the warming shelf for at least 10 minutes . Our waitress who was wonderful, noticed the length of time and said she would check for us. Then a server, brought them over about 10 minutes later.
My porkchop was too done, I requested medium as per the chef’s suggestion and it came back just about well done. The porkchop was small and thin, not what i expected, and not hot. My wife got chicken franches which was cooked properly and hot. It came with spaghetti which was cooked ok, but not hot and the sauce has no taste.
We were given by the management a free dessert to make up for our previous unsatisfactory dining experience during Thanksgiving. We took it to go, ive never seen canolli like this, two one inch rolls of very thin non “canolli style shell”, that broke apart when moved out of the box, with marscapone flavored cheese instead of traditional filling.( which it was explained to us prior).
Not to my liking, but appreciated the gesture. The bill was $190., not a small amount ( minus $20 glass of wine) for a casual meal out.
There will not be a third visit.
