Located in the heart of the the Most Beautiful Square in Texas, City Post Chophouse began its story as a post office in the 1930s, during the Great Depression and Prohibition. Nearly a century later, the beautifully renovated historic building now offers an elevated dining experience, live music and private events.

Executive Chef Adrian Corkill has curated a stand-out menu, featuring fine cuts and chops of beef, lamb, and pork, as well as fresh seafood and decadent side dishes served family style, along with unique handcrafted cocktails. Accommodations for vegetarian, pescatarian, and gluten-free diets are readily available. Our wine selection includes something for everyone, with a variety of by-the-glass options.

Reservations can be made for lunch, dinner, and Sunday brunch in our main dining room, where “Texas formal” attire is appropriate. Walk-ins are welcome in our oyster bar, where our full menu is available with a more relaxed dress code.

    We went for Valentines Day on Thursday night instead of Friday because we couldn’t get a reservation for Friday. Absolutely everything we had we so delicious. We had the charcuterie starter, the house salad, the half hen and lobster tail dinners. Our servers were excellent, checking on us but not bothering us. I was surprised that the bill wasn’t as bad as I’d been expecting for all the food we had!!

    I love going to the Small Plate affair on Tuesdays at the City Post. I like being surprised with each little plate that I get. Usually there is a seafood and meat plates and the 4th plate is a little dessert. It is the perfect amount of food for my appetite. All of the servers are very friendly and try to help you the best they can. A big YES for the City Post.

    Seabass delicious. Flat iron delicious. Lobster mac delicious. Chocolate cake.... .maybe beat I've ever had. We'll be back for sure!

    The experience was fantastic. The only disappointment was the staff knew and commented that we wanted to go downstairs to the speakeasy after dinner, but they did not tell us we needed to put our name on the speakeasy wait list nor did they offer to do it for us. After dinner when we went down to the speakeasy we were told the wait would be about two hours and that our waiter or staff at the City Post Chop House could have called down and put us on the wait list when we arrived at 4:30 for an early dinner. If they had, we would not faced a two hour wait at the speakeasy. As it was, we decided not to wait and left. That was a disappointment as we had been looking forward both to dinner at the Chop House and and after dinner drink in the speakeasy.

    Once again, City Post has outdone itself. We had a wonderful dinner and our server, Nathan, was so much fun. We had a fantastic evening, with delightful food, and amazing service. Thank you for always going above and beyond to make our experience special.

    Amazing food, service and overall experience, and I highly recommend the speakeasy for drinks - great ambiance and rounds out a wonderful evening!

    City Post Chophouse is our favorite restaurant in the Georgetown area (favorite restaurant period). Food (everything is outstanding) & service (always attentive) are exceptional.

    Great Experience, food was excellent, service was even better. They have a very nice speak easy for an after dinner drink but it’s not available for reservation on open table.

    This was our first time dinning with City Post and the service was perfect. Everyone was so friendly and professional. I had a birthday card that was signed by workers waiting at the table. The lady escorted me to show me the bathroom and explained the whole menu. We were two young couples and felt like we were taken serious which was refreshing. The food on top of the service was delicious. We are ready to come back for more.
