NOW SERVING SUNDAY BRUNCH!!

The Coastal Kitchen Monterey is an idyllic setting to enjoy inspirational fine dining. The culinary efforts are on display in the show kitchen and the service team is poised to offer impassioned explanations.

Chef Michael Rotondo’s multi-coursed tasting menu focuses on sustainability and celebrates the bounty of the Monterey Bay and Central Coast. A wine pairing of thoughtfully curated wines selected by the Sommelier team is available to complement each captivating course.

Additionally, we are also offering our Champagne Brunch on Sundays for 10am to 2pm.

Dinner Menus: Multiple Course Tasting Menu starts at $145 per person (Tuesday to Saturday Evenings)
3 Course Prix Fixe Menu $85 ( Tuesday to Thursday evenings)
Champagne Brunch Prix Fixe Menu: $75 per person (Sundays from 10am to 2pm)
Reservation Cancellation Policy: 24 Hours Prior to Reservation Time
Late Cancellation Fee: $50 per guest cancelation.

Our carefully crafted tasting menu by Executive Chef Michael Rotondo, who brings a fresh culinary prowess to the Peninsula, explores new ground using the treasures that abound throughout our coastal region. Together with the sublime wine pairings curated by Sommelier Conrad Reddick, this epicurean journey invites you to plunge into the rhythm of the coast.                     We had a wonderful time. Everyone from the reception folks through the table staff and sommelier were terrific. Great pairing with terrific food made for a great evening.

                    Had a great time. Only thing that tipped me off was how quiet servers were at explaining the dishes, some of the courses had competing flavors that didn't blend well.

                    This is one of the best restaurants I have had dinner at in many years. The food, wine pairings, and service were memorable. I am sorry that I live across the country.

                    An exquisite dining experience! From the service to the 7-course dinner to the wine pairing! We had a lovely table by the window and arrived just as the sun had set with a spectacular view of Monterey Bay. What a special treat!

                    A fabulous meal. We did the three course fixed price. Every dish was superb. Even the freshly made rolls and butter were heavenly. Incredible service in a white tablecloth setting. And a low noise level so we could talk to each other!!! If we lived closer we would be regulars.

                    This is our second time having dinner at this restaurant. The first time was memorable throughout. This time the white miso soup with seafood and the market salad were outstanding. The entrees--short ribs and duck--need more originality. Our first time the entrees had a distinctly Japanese fusion to them and were delectable. This time the sauces were mild--classic French comes to mind. The duck had a wonderful barley side dish but needed more fruit--kumquats sliced paper thin perhaps with a chutney glaze. The short ribs had a wonderfully dark sauce served in a tetsubin Japanese teapot, but needed more richness--perhaps a thinly sliced selection of shiitake and maitake in a port reduction? And soy sauce or salt or maybe yuzu (the current trend in Paris restaurants this past September) needed to be added to both entrees. For the short ribs the crunch potato crisps added the needed hint of salt. More was required. Call us food snobs, but Coastal Kitchen has a lot going for it, more than a lot of restaurants in Monterey County. Keep on experimenting with new herbs, sauces--which define everything, and wonderful unique additions such as the tiny bits of crunch veggies in the miso soup! We will try your Sunday brunch too!

                    The menu is always fantastic and inventive, and I highly recommend adding the wine pairing! It's a good value and usually has wines you might not otherwise know or try. Also, the kitchen is very accommodating of food allergies or preferences without sacrificing quality or care at all.
