If Code Black Howard Street was a family member, she would be Code Black Brunswick’s little sister. This industrial chic café conversion was inspired by the building’s previous history, a mechanics warehouse. Nestled in magnificent North Melbourne, espresso and batch brew are high on the agenda here with an inspired and beautiful brunch menu served 7 days a week.

Our outdoor tables are partially shaded; however, we cannot guarantee full protection from the weather. As our indoor space is limited, it is unlikely that we will be able to move you so please dress appropriately for Melbourne weather!

We are open 363 days (closed Good Friday & Christmas Day)

Kitchen hours: 7.00am-3.00pm
Please be advised that we do not take same day bookings.

    First-time customer, however, I definitely will be back!! Code Black ticked all my boxes from the lovely ambience of the venue to the brilliant coffee served, most delicious mushroom breakfast, and friendly staff!

    The food is served very quickly and the quality is good. Portions are quite adequate. The coffees are slightly smaller than expected. A minor misunderstanding with the orders but otherwise an enjoyable experience.

    Code Black Coffee was great as usual. Tried the salmon soba noodles for breakfast and it was good. The table waiter was friendly and attentive to our needs. Dishes were a bit pricey but at least the servings were not small or stingey as compared to other cafes.
