Cognoscenti is a cosy neighbourhood restaurant and wine bar nestled in the Dandenong Ranges, 50 minutes from the CBD.

Dine with us and be treated to exquisite food and intimate service, while exploring our carefully curated selection of local and international wines. We are passionate about cooking with local, seasonal produce in our wood-fired oven; celebrating the simplicity of each ingredient.

    We dined here for an early dinner starting with a dozen fresh oysters & a glass of Prosecco for golden hour. It was a lovely evening so we sat out side in the court yard & had our oysters, then got escorted to our table when our entrees were ready. It was a lovely way to start the evening. Then we shared the duck liver parfait, prawns & a tomato salad. For mains we couldn’t decide so we ended up sharing the pork belly & the barramundi which were both Devine! After all this food we had to share the basque cheese cake to top off a wonderful evening.

    Beautiful food, catering to everyone's specific needs in our group of 9. Also very generous servings Friendly and very attentive service despite being a busy night. Highly recommend!!

    Unbeatable and top-notch dining experience. Our only go-to restaurant for modern Australian and French cuisine. We don't go anywhere else. It's always guaranteed for freshness, unique flavours with the best wine and services, and great value for money.

    Great service and food is cooked to perfection with attention to detail. Service was quick and everything tasted superb! Owner is the picture of professional, pleasant, humble, and knowledgeable. Nice to finally spoil myself because we deserve it!

    We've eaten at Cognoscenti several times and the food is always delicious. The menu changes regularly, so we have different dishes. This time we particularly liked the asparagus starter.
