COMMUNION is a place where you feel seen. A place that feels like comfort, rest, relief, and peace. Our mission is to provide the food, the familiarity, and the intimacy that make you feel at home.

Chef Kristi Brown has spooned her way through the culinary industry for the past 28 years. Starting at a small café in downtown Seattle, Kristi has done just about everything from dishwasher/prep cook to running her own catering business for nearly a decade. From the beginning, her vision was to focus on the art and experience of food through culinary activism. A purpose powered by her mantra, “Everybody’s Gotta Eat!” Chef Kristi desires to build community through the cultivation of fresh food and fine cooking.

Poor experience with reservation system. After being seated 30 minutes late, and only being seated for 55 minutes we were told hurry up since they are “backed up”

Absolutely loved every single dish we got. One of the best meals I’ve had in a while, and as a group of four, we got to try a lot of things. Great drinks, great atmosphere. I definitely plan on coming back!

Amazing food. Absolutely some of the best dishes in the city and beyond. Staff was friendly and quick service. Plan ahead and get there asap!

A really very delicious taste adventure! Each dish is meticulously cooked and plated and the four of us liked everything we ordered. We’ll go back to try more menu items. Yum!!!

I'm a bit torn. This was my second visit to Communion. The first time was lovely, food was cooked close to perfection. This visit my son ordered the catfish. It was mostly breading and the fish lacked flavor. I ordered the porkchop. It was a challenge to cut the meat and eat it. The desserts 🍨 bread pudding was delicious. Please note you will pay for the ice cream as a separate dish. Lastly, my bill was $295, which included a tip of $52.50. My advice, check your bill before you sign. Nice place though 👌

My group of 4 were seated outside for dinner. It was rainy and somewhat cold, and our server offered us blankets to stay warm. There was also an overhead heater that kept us cozy. The restaurant was out of lemonade and sweet tea, but our server offered a "dealer's choice" non-alcoholic drink which was refreshing and delicious. It was a pink drink that had a sprig of rosemary in it (rosemary happens to be my favorite herb). Everything we ordered for food was delicious and cooked well. The hoe cakes (3 in an order) were moist and buttery. The mussels and clams dish was so good, and the sauce they came in was very flavorful with a slight spicy kick. We also got the mojo chicken over garlic rice and the unc's fried chicken which were very tender. The grilled okra with onions as well as the collard greens were really good sides. For dessert, we had the salted caramel ice cream and bread pudding which were just the right amount of sweet. They serve family style here, and all the dishes were ordered were enough to satisfy a table of 4 people (our server recommended we order 5-6 dishes total). The only thing we thought was weird was the last dish to come out was the collard greens which was just weird timing to finish our meal with a side. Your whole order is put in, so things come out as they are ready to serve. Besides that, the atmosphere was lovely, and the whole experience was great. The staff here are very friendly and knowledgeable about the menu and helped us make choices for what to order. I am definitely coming back and hope to get seated at a table inside because the music they play in the restaurant is some soulful rhythm and blues.
