My husband and I recently had the pleasure of dining at Contessa in Boston—not once but twice for brunch—and I can confidently say it will now be our go-to spot. From the food to the ambiance, every detail was memorable and delightful.
Both times, we indulged in the Panettone French Toast, which was nothing short of exceptional. The toast was thick and beautifully crisped, with a deep golden-brown finish that made for a delectable bite every time. What truly elevated it was the perfect flavoring; you could taste the notes of vanilla in the egg batter, which added a layer of warmth and richness to the dish. It struck the perfect balance between decadent and satisfying. My husband paired his with the smoked salmon and capers, a classic combination that provided a savory counterpoint to the sweet toast.
The setting at Contessa is unmatched. Perched on the rooftop, the restaurant boasts stunning panoramic views of the New England skyline. Gazing out over the city’s mix of historic and modern architecture while dining created an unforgettable experience. The natural light pouring through the glass panels only enhanced the beauty of the moment.
Beyond the views, the décor is something to marvel at. The mix of chic furnishings, artful design, and sophisticated yet playful touches (like the whimsical artwork and charming wallpaper) make the space feel both luxurious and cozy. From the plush seating to the mirrored accents and plants strategically placed around the room, the attention to detail gives Contessa a vibrant yet elegant personality.
The overall ambiance was perfect for a leisurely brunch—refined, yet relaxed. Whether it’s the upbeat, bustling atmosphere of the staff or the impeccable service, everything comes together seamlessly.
We’ll absolutely be back for more brunches at Contessa. The combination of incredible food, breathtaking views, and thoughtful design creates a dining experience that is both special and comforting.
