Cooks & Soldiers brings the cuisine and cultural experience of Spain’s Basque region to the flourishing West Midtown area. The menu is divided into “pintxos tradicionales,” or tapas-like snacks served atop toasted bread; “pinxtos especiales,” or Basque-inspired small plates; “asador” including a variety of wood-grilled fish, meats and vegetables; and a selection of unique and modern desserts. Behind the bar, Cooks & Soldiers offers guests an extensive collection of Basque and Spanish wines, txakoli and ciders, in addition to craft beer and signature cocktails. The cocktail list places a heavy emphasis on gin, offering a seasonal selection of house-infused tonics blended into gin tonics and other popular libations.

    That was my first time there and everyone was kind and helpful. Joanna was our server and the bartender made great drinks! The food was so good! I will definitely go back and try some other things. I am not a big steak eater, but that Dry aged ribeye was to die for!!!! Patatas bravas, Arroz Caldoso, Mountain Bread and carrots were all top notch!

    My fiancé and I had the opportunity to be a part of Cooks & Soldiers’ 10 year anniversary celebration, and let me tell you that we were BEYOND IMPRESSED. There was a stellar tasting menu with generous portions, and service was TOP-NOTCH!!! A huge shoutout goes to WILLIAM (a former manager who’s now at a another location within the CHG but even made a guest appearance 🫨), JO (one of our go-to servers), DEJA (the general manager - my apologies if I misspelled your name), JOSH (another manager), the bartenders, the chef, and the rest of the Cooks & Soldiers team (both FOH and BOH). The hospitality/customer service and teamwork was impeccable, which was refreshing to witness. When I didn’t think it was possible, Cooks & Soldiers did it again, providing yet another unforgettable dining experience!!! Honestly though, I shouldn’t be surprised when this is the standard the CHG has set. Kudos to you all and keep up the great work!!! Here’s to future success and many more celebrations!!!     Friends and I attended the 10th anniversary party which was hosted by the entire Castellucci family. The meal was 5 courses, 15 or so items, served family style and the food was amazing! The taste and presentation were matched only by the enthusiasm of the staff and festive atmosphere. My friends and I have attended many events here, e.g. Tamborrada, Fêtes de Bayonne, as well as happy hours and dinners. If you haven't tried it yet I highly recommend it!

    Beyond any expectation. Our server was knowledgeable and all around wonderful. The chef experience is the way to go. Each dish was stellar and the 2 foodies/chef we were dining with agreed. We will all be back!

    Great service and outstanding food and flavors. The suggestions by our waiter were on point and made the evening great. I would definitely recommend this restaurant to all my family and friends.
