Nestled in South Melbourne the Coppersmith is luxury boutique Hotel & Gastropub bar and bistro is a welcome retreat for hotel guests, local residents and business guests. The menu tips its hat to traditional pub food, prepared with quality fresh produce, sourced locally wherever possible. We have our beautiful Rooftop overlooking Melbourne & Albert Park and we have our Cellar 1870 for private dining.

We focus on local and crafted product, the bar has 18 beers taps featuring some of the best craft beers from Australia and Victoria, a thoughtful wine list and menu options from breakfast, lunch and dinner.

Really disappointed there are only 2 tables in the area shown on the website. We were basically seated in a noisy busy bar! Can forgive the few rude staff, (one who brought wine to the table and announced "Who's is this" and when asked what it was said "I dunno") as it's hard to get well trained staff in hospitality at the moment, and several of the girls were awesome. Not so forgiving of the arrogant chef who said I couldn't get hand cut chips with my salmon (even though I offered to pay extra) because they were for the steak dishes - then they served them to my partner who ordered the fish and chips. Restaurants can't afford to be mediocre in the current climate so thanks but we won't be returning.

Enjoyed some great wine and food with friends, service was very good. The cured kingfish was the menu standout. I am surprised that the restaurant was near empty which took away from the ambience slightly, but I am sure it will be busier as the year progresses, given it's only been a couple weeks since lockdown ended. Will certainly be back.

Booked for NYE but restaurant called a few hours before to say they had only just got the booking and "they are full" and there "must be something wrong with Open Table". Even though they delivered this news in a very unsympathetic manner, I could accept that something probably did go wrong, and being New Years they likely were packed, but they fact that they clearly didn't follow up with Open Table left me annoyed. This much was apparent as I continued to get the "how did you enjoy your experience at Coppersmith" and "please review" messages. The one star review can therefore be considered a comment on both the restaurant and Open Table.

Innovative menu and attentive service , friendly staff who enjoy a laugh. Great bar for a champagne, wine or ale before or after dinner. Happening pub for anyone in the know in the wider Albert Park area that caters for an eclectic clientele !
