Take a seat at our signature French-inspired bistro, Couvant, housed in the former Peychaud Cocktail Bitters factory. Here, French techniques play on the roots of New Orleans cuisine using fresh, local ingredients.

New Orleans is renowned for its French cuisine, and you won’t have to leave the confines of The Eliza Jane to enjoy delicious fare within a French bistro.

Couvant specializes in classic French cooking serving entrees that pay homage to French history and regional specialties. Never pretentious, the dishes and service at Couvant are purposefully simple and social. Nestle into an intimate dining room banquette. Or dine at a bistro table in our historic courtyard for chef-driven entrées and a bottle of wine — or maybe two.

Service was polite but poor. We never received appetizer and had to remind our server of everything that we ordered. We were at the restaurant for almost 2 hours due to the slow service. We did go on Christmas, and he did appear to have way too many tables assigned to him. It appeared every table was experiencing the same issues. It was Christmas, so hopefully this isn't an everyday issue for them.

Couvant is an excellent restaurant. Service and food were top notch. The duck egg rolls are a must try appetizer and they have the best fries I’ve ever tasted. Asked the waiter and fries were cooked in duck fat so good. Definitely check this place out

Delicious for brunch! The duck spring rolls, French toast appetizer, and eggs benedict were excellent. Also loved their espresso martini.

Couvant was a beautiful atmosphere with delish food. I would recommend the food to anyone, and they had a variety of different meals. Our waitress was not very friendly and constantly seemed like she was in a hurry although there was only one other table seated aside from our table. Other than this, Couvant was overall very nice with great food!

We were extremely happy with our breakfast at Couvant. The drinks were great and the food and service were excellent! This will be our new breakfast spot to go to before the Saints games.
