My burger wasn’t fully cooked. I was a little upset with the meal because I have been there before and bought a few burgers from this place and it’s been pretty good. Guess it was just a lazy night for the cooks my waitress did a great job so no need to to complain about something she has no control over. I learned to deal with certain situations in life and move on. Will try your-burger one more time. My grandpa had an open table reservation for 9 o’clock. We were seated promptly by our wonderful hostess. She chatted us up as we were walked to our table. Our server Ari was wonderful, Percival, smiling, highly intelligent about the food and accurate as well. Our drinks were always refilled promptly. We almost never had an empty glass utensils, and plates were nice and clean so are the napkins. The kitchen however, was a a little lackluster. They might have just had a rough night since it was a Saturday evening. However, our steaks came out cold so cold. In fact, that the butter that we asked for did not melt on the steak. Our server was then asked to re-fire it in the kitchen to which she gladly did so the kitchen seemed to not have cooked the meal properly again for the second time at which point our table had asked for a manager, unfortunately I cannot remember her name, but she was very accommodating listened to everything we had to say regarding the food, validated our concerns and the incorrectness of the food, as well as the extreme volume of the live entertainment. Our tables stakes, which were the total of four and then the steak fries which had steak on it as well was prepared for a third time and our meal was comped, even after we told the manager that we would still like to pay for our meal that we eat it was comped on them. The third time the steaks were brought out four of the steaks came out wonderful and just to temperature. However, the steak fries did not come out correct again. Customer service and managerial technique were spot on even if the kitchen had a rough night and the food quality did not match overall four stars out of five we love culinary dropout. Like a few previous visits, there were several missing items in terms of availability. Each member of the party had to make a substitution due to lack of food available - overcooked fries, missing proteins for salad, missing bread for a pastrami sandwich. While on a weekend this could be understandable, but after New Years with an ASU game that had been scheduled for weeks, the kitchen was out of many items and slow to bring out entrees. The service was slow due to lack of staff, the seating was also delayed and the initial seating was out of range of televisions to view the football game. Service from the bar was surprisingly slow and one of my fellow diners received cold food (burger) which ended up being his 3rd meal choice. Probably the most disappointing Culinary Dropout experience so far. This was our third year in a row dining at Culinary Dropout on New Year's Eve. Coincidentally, we had the same server, Loretta, that we had last year. She is a great server and such a ray of light and positivity. She also knew the menu well and helped guide us through the recently updated menu. We got the nachos as an appetizer and our party devoured them! One person in our party got the steak frites and subbed the fries for mash potatoes made from real potatoes. The other 2 people in our party got the NYE special of steak, polenta bites, and lobster. The flavor was incredible and the meat was perfectly cooked. We are fans of surf and turf which is typically served as whole portions of steak and lobster, however this dish was served as sliced pieces of steak and chunks of lobster. Not a big deal, but it would have been helpful to know this detail ahead of time. We ended with the Mud Pie which is truly an experience in itself! PLEASE NEVER REMOVE the mud pie from the menu! There was never any warning that certain drinks on the menu like the Christmas tree tower would be for parties of four or more; that should be notified on OpenTable and by the restaurant. Another drink on the menu was not available and given that this is literally a bar pop-up staff should’ve been notified about that. There was absolutely no holiday music playing. Very disappointing.
