We went to brunch at this restaurant. I had the Bison Hash and others in my party had the garden omelet, avocado toast, and the shrimp & grits. I had a bite of the other plates and everything tasted great!
A serious pet peeve that this restaurant can easily remedy and save time & money in the process, is how management apparently encourages the servers to NOT write down people's orders but commit them to memory instead. Perhaps the management thinks that this somehow is part of their brand's culture or something. I don't know.
However, since we had several dishes brought to us simply wrong (and not what we ordered) --- where I got over-hard eggs when I ordered over-medium, my wife got runny eggs (when she asked for hard poached eggs a la carte) and my sister who ordered an entirely different dish got the hard-poached eggs instead, that just makes things irritating. We then asked for a grilled salmon fillet prepared simple (salt and pepper) for my young daughter, but they brought smoked salmon. Mind you, that smoked salmon tasted delicious (I took a small bite) but it wasn't what we ordered, and my daughter didn't like it.
To the restaurant's credit, the server brought out a new salmon for us and also brought out a pouched egg as ordered for my wife, but I just let my own incorrect order just slide since I didn't want to wait for any new dish. If this restaurant lets their servers simply WRITE DOWN their customers' orders --- you know, like how they've done in eating establishments for the past few centuries --- things would go much smoother for all parties involved.
To sum up: It sounds like I'm down on this place. I'm not. The food was really good, and the greenspace play area next door is great for families with kids. But just WRITE DOWN THE ORDERS! Good grief, people! This is an EASY Fix for this restaurant!
If this place wants to be "different", give your servers tablets, smart phones, or paper plates to take down orders, but TAKE THEM DOWN!
