First, I want to give kudos to the host, and our server, Kadijanette (sp?). It was VERY busy and we could see the team was doing their absolute best to accommodate everyone that walked through the door. We were grateful that we had reservations! We had a little bit of a wait after we were seated, but our server was a rockstar! She took our order and despite having a heavy load of tables, she handled each patron with efficiency and grace (even those that weren’t as patient or kind in return). The display of excellence under extreme pressure was evident today. As always, the food and drinks were top notch! This experience will keep us coming back for years to come.

I have been to this place twice love the ambience and drink are awesome, I am not sure what the problem is with the services the waiter was great and tried to get to us as quickly as possible but with 7 table and two groups OMG! Not sure why, maybe they should charge a set gratuity. I hope that is the case with a group of more than 2. The grits have tooo much cheese, I will visit again because I like to support neighborhood business especially black owned. I am and was happy when my food finally arrive it was not hot but not cold either, I was satisfied and in oz because presentation is/was on point. Maybe the problem is they can not keep or get good help.

Shrimp and grits are excellent however it tends to be warm instead of hot. The operation tends to be slow in seating and serving if it’s a weekend. Beyond that, the location is open and airy and feels comfortable.

My first dinner here. Loved the catfish, greens and jalapeño grits. Perfect spice. Great service too.

I loved my experience at Dawn. The server Jada was awesome. As for my meal, I had the pot roast with jalapeño grits...it was phenomenal. I will be back.

Dawn is a nice quaint spot in Hyde Park. A definite gem. This is a very laidback place to have a nice meal. Service is also very laidback. I will come back.

The environment is very welcoming and cozy. The food was delicious and our server was attentive and friendly. Definitely a spot to make a regular.

The smoked salmon deviled eggs were delicious and you can’t skip the homemade biscuit. Worth the extra calories!
