Izakaya Den is Denver’s popular Japanese gastropub, modeled after the lively after hours establishments found throughout Japan. The restaurant is located on South Pearl Street and is the second restaurant of the Kizaki brothers, founders and owners of Sushi Den.

The menu is arranged in a tapas style, serving traditional Japanese small plates along with dishes infused with international flavors and textures. The more traditional Japanese offerings include sashimi and nigiri, sourced from daily fish shipments from around the globe, along with dumplings and noodle dishes. The global cuisine experiments with a bevy of different flavors including unique items such as Grilled Panzanella Salad (jumbo lump crab, toasted focaccia, local goat cheese, pistachios, plum wine vinaigrette), Kobe Beef Sliders (seared foie gras, pomme frittes). A gluten-free menu is also available along with a popular weekday happy hour from 5 to 6:30 pm.

Izakaya Den, like Sushi Den, is a delicious dining experience, both aesthetically and in terms of it’s fresh beautifully prepared cuisine. Neither disappoints.

Our server(male, dark hair ponytail, tail) and chef were amazing and picked the perfect omakase for us and timed the courses perfectly!

The food was exceptional and the design of the restaurant amazing. We loved it. Our server was exceptionally knowledgeable about the restaurant and menu, but didn’t quite read the room, so to speak, seemingly a bit more interested in his information than the our party’s desire to be with one another in conversation

Sushi was awesome. Love the decor/ambiance/vibe and our server was perfectly attentive. She suggested a sake that was just delicious!

The staff is always very friendly and so kind. The sushi is always top notch and melts in your mouth. The only sad part is that most everything was sold out by Saturday night. Four to five of the items that we were trying to order were already sold out by the time with got to dinner at 7:00pm. I've had sushi in Seattle, Baltimore, San Fransico, and Seoul, South Korea, and Izakaya Den is easily my top choice in sushi.
